What will Gary Johnson do if he wins?

Yeah, I know, kind of a silly question. But still, what if?

My guess is he and Weld would immediately rejoin the Republican Party and govern accordingly.

Try and push through his agenda and fail miserably would be my best guess.

ETA: assuming the GOP keeps control of congress, then Obamacare would be repealed in a big hurry.

Yes we could finally end medicaid for all!

And all current federal taxes (in favor of a monstrously regressive national sales tax), and virtually all federal government services. The United States would be turned into a glorious utopia with pure freedom for all...right up until the peasant revolt.

I don't think he could get even a republican congress to do all those. Ending the entitlement of medicaid though should be able to do and start the purging of the entitlement classes.

Of course he couldn't, but it's what he wants and anyone considering voting for him should understand that if Gary had his druthers he would destroy this country with his desired policies.

He'd say, "Why are you waking me up?"

followed by, "Are you ******** me?"

Edited to properly mask profanity. In the public sections, of which USA Politics (and the election subforum) is one, you must type all profanities out in full and correctly spelled in order for the autocensor to work.

Gary Johnson live on MSNBC talking about his drug use. Says he won't be using drugs on the job, and that he isn't now. Fair enough.

Not that he has any chance at all.

I'm up for it, but some have always found me revolting.. But they aren't the ones I give a crap about!!!!!

My impression is that as a Libertarian (note big "L"), Johnson is a pretty good Republican. Am I wrong?
Sure, except he is pro choice, pro gay marriage, for ending the "war on drugs", against the patriot act, racial profiling, and wants to cut the defense budget by 43%.

Precisely. I'd rate him as [formerly] being pretty good for a Republican (though I still wouldn't vote for him with a gun to my head) but if I was a Republican true believer I'd find him wholly unacceptable. There's a reason he's now running for President a second time as a Libertarian, and that's because there's no chance he'd make it out of Iowa and New Hampshire as a Republican.

Ah I read Trebuchet's post as saying he'd fit in OK with the GoP, not more acceptable than a republican.
