I vaguely remember a recommendations thread for webcomics but not one for podcasts. So here it is.

Wooden Overcoats Podcast Sitcom. It's pretty much what it says, a sitcom (of sorts) set on a fictional UKian island and involving rival undertakers. And a novel writing mouse. I rather like it.

I stopped listening to podcasts when I stopped walking to work every day. That kind of physical activity drives me crazy without something to occupy my mind as well. Conversely, I can't sit still and just listen to something without doing something physical to occupy my body.

So in the Before Times, my daily commute gave me about two hours of walking every day, which I'd occupy by catching up on my favorite 'casts, and/or continue an audiobook. Nowadays it's a struggle just to clear my monthly audiobook subscription credit, and I've abandoned all my 'casts.

I don't know how many of them are still running, but the ones I liked the most were:

- Criminal, one of the early true crime podcasts, and really very good in my opinion.
- You Must Remember This, a Hollywood history podcast. Well researched, very good.
- Answer Me This!, a bantz-based podcast premised on answering questions sent in by the audience
- A rotating list of others, not really worth detailing here. You probably can't go wrong with Car Talk and Radiolab, though.

I have bookmarked them.

I listen to loads of podcasts - when I'm exercising, when I'm waiting around, when I'm trying to get to sleep....A couple I particularly enjoy:

The History of English Podcast: The Spoken History of a Global Language

The Life Scientific: Jim Al-Khalili talks to leading scientists about their life and work

Similar to theprestige, I struggle these days without 2 hours to commute, bt I'm doing my best to work through my backlog, and still have my firm favourites:

My Brother, My Brother and Me : Three brothers nominally try to provide advice for question from the audience and the Yahoo Questions service, but really it's just one long extended riff.

The Flop House : Three guys watch a bad film, then talk about it.

Bruce Springsteen Sings The Alphabet : Two Springtseen fans disucss every Springsteen song, in alphabetical order. After nearly four years, they moved on to the albums, in chronological order. They are now doing a mini series covering Jason Isbell, but have more Springsteen to get back to, as he keeps releasing music :)

BBC Friday Night Comedy : Rolling podcast of whichever programme is currently occupying the friday night comedy slot on BBC Radio 4. The News Quiz, The Now Show, Dead Ringers are most common, but others pop up.

My Dad Wrote A Porno: Three friends read a chapter a week from an erotic novel written by the father of one of them. Hilarity ensues.
