What is Truth?

You asked to repost the question on this thread so I will.

Is killing another living thing bad? According to you, this truth can be answered yes or no. I would ask that your answer be one of those two choices that you indicate are the only answers to truth. Any misdirection, refusal to answer, or conditional answers will be regarded as an admission that it was a blindingly stupid thing to say.
Is there truth in the words that you say here? Or, should it be construed as entirely meaningless? Yes or no? ... And, if I didn't answer the question to your liking, does that make me blindingly stupid, as you suggest? How so? It can only be -- according to your logic -- yes or no, correct?

Shiraz, although originating in some strange place like Iran or somewhere similar, is a peculiarly Australian wine specialty. I'm not sure why this is. It makes an excellent drop for washing down the animal parts consumed at any barby.

I'm sure Joyce would have liked it, in fact I suspect he may have been consuming a fair amount of it while considering Finnegan!

I've only had it once. I liked it.

I think Joyce was more a beer man...but so am I, technically. It's only recently that I've started getting into wines (other than the honey kinds ;)). I think Nora had a big influence on James. Ok, more for Ulysesses, but still....

I'd think that someone who likes to force others into false dilemmas, would be used to answering them.

You're the one who believes truth is yes-or-no. You tell me.

Or, should it be construed as entirely meaningless? Yes or no? And, if I didn't answer your question to your liking, does that make me blindingly stupid, as you suggest?
I'm just trying to get you to place the answer to the question in one of those two catagories as you have claimed is possible. I don't have a preferred answer.

If you can't do this, then you must admit that your earlier claim was wrong, wouldn't you say?

How so? It can only be -- according to your logic -- yes or no, correct?

LOL. The "yes or no" dichotomy is your logic, Iacchus, not mine. I'm only asking that you follow your own guidelines, blindingly stupid though they are.

Do you deny that you made this post?
Iacchus said:

It's strictly a matter digital logic which, of course is the basis for all logic. It either amounts to "1," meaning it does exist, or it amounts to "0," meaning it doesn't exist. This, in fact is the basis for all truth.

If you admit to making this post, then support your claim that true/false contingencies are the basis for all truth. Answer a simple question with a simple true or false.

How can you be so sure? ;)

Right

Truth exists as a whole, and the contingency of all its parts.

An argument follows.

Chuffy was a nangel then and his soard fleshed light like likening. Fools top! Singty, sangty, meekly loose, defendy nous from prowlabouts. Make a shine on the curst. Emen.

Blah blah blah! ...

Hey, if you keep repeating this stuff, maybe you'll start acting this way. Or, maybe you already do?

It's strictly a matter digital logic which, of course is the basis for all logic. It either amounts to "1," meaning it does exist, or it amounts to "0," meaning it doesn't exist. This, in fact is the basis for all truth.

The data states of 1 and 0 are represented by the following "truth's":

Is 0 and will remain 0
Is 0 and will become 1
Is 1 and will remain 1
Is 1 and will become 0
Is 1 and is unknown if it will remain 1
Is 0 and is unknown if it will remain 0

Even in simple logic, the truth might be unknown

According to you (as your earlier post indicates), truth is yes or no. Now you're trying to weasle out and say it's contingent? Support your claims, Iacchus, that's all I'm asking you to do. Quit running away and stand behind your words or admit they were wrong.

The truth is all that exists after you stop believing, not to mention all that's entailed in the nature of your beliefs.

Yes, truth is a yes or no propostion. Now, as far as ascertaining that truth, that's another story. Unless of course you are willing to admit the reality we all experience is not all-inclusive ... like the truth.
