What is Perfection?

Well, I'm really not sure I'm qualified to say, in the sense that I am unable answer it to yours or, anyone else's satisfaction. In other words it's not for me to tell you who God is.

But it is for you to point at random objects, events, and coincidences and ask "maybe that's it?" with a sly wink, though, yes?

Hey, if we can't agree on the little things, how can we agree on the things which are of the utmost importance? ;) Like I say, it's not for me to say.

This is a very good philosophical question. Whether we agree or disagree about the little things, Mr. Iacchus, it's them that help us built a common ground of understanding. So, since there is not way for us to agree on the big things, since we are unable even to achieve a consesus on their definition , we might discuss about the little things.

But that won't stop you from doing so.
So, do I go around telling everyone each and everything they should do in accordance with God? And do I suppose you require me to answer that one too?

No, quite the opposite. As my grandaddy used to say; "If you don't know, shut up and listen 'till you do."

There are varying degrees of suffering. I've suffered as much as anyone else. So what?

So is suffering perfect?

I would claim that you are being deliberatly slow on this point, but I think you are avoiding the point.

Does a WHOLE that EMBRACES PERFECTION still remain perfect when it allows for suffering, torture and rape?

Why would that be part of perfection?

Do you mean like the blood sucking tick you peel off your flesh? Unfortunately Cousin Pentheus didn't learn his lesson either. King Lycurgus didn't fare too well either for that matter.

You are full of it here Iachuss, you demean those who have suffered by pretending that you have suffered mysthology, I did think you had more compassion than this.

Iacchus said:
Well, if it happens to you, and they've got you locked up in a mental ward, you might understand what I'm talking about if, you're fortunate enough to sort things out later.

Now this sounds like some personal suffering, in Illinois people are only committed when they are a threat to themselves or others. Your mythological suffering is still demeaning.

I agree with Mr. Iacchus. Suffering is very subjective and none can really claims that he or she has experienced the ultimate suffering. I have met people who lost kids, others who lost relatives from cancer and I have seen the pain of people that suffer mental illnesses and they are aware of it.

I took a look at your book Iacchus, it shows that you are a person of great sensitivity, if you were French and lived in France you would be nominated for the Nobel Award, I bet on that. ;)

Your case remains a problem to me though. I cannot tune to your random thoughts. But it's ok. We are all fruits.

And this is still avoiding the point of bringing up suffering.

Where is the perfection in suffering?

Where is the eprfection in torture and rape?

The universe is not perfect, it is chaotic or vastly flawed.

Yeah, that's what ticked me off. And did you catch that veiled threat in there?

Iacchus said:
Well, at least you get the general idea. ;)

Hey, just pretend like I was never here (because this is the last place I really want to be) and you and I will get along just fine ...

If you don't want to be here, then is it perfect?

So you admit that the universal truth may be false, then where is perfection?

I would help if you would answer the little questions, instead of using the big brush. Where is perfection in suffering?

Is this really complimentary or is this an ill concealed attempt at pilloring?

If it was "ill-concealed", would you have to ask?

Well Terry, for me it's hard to tell.
Sometimes people try to be complimentary and mistakenly are rude. Very confusing sometimes.
