Some JREF members do mix in a lot of unecessary insults with the debunking. In my opinion, with some members, it seems the debunking is the pretext for the insults -the insults seem to be what they're really in this for.

I know why the CTs give us such a high ranking on the Scale of Evil.

It's because, for conspiracy folks, disagreement is the ultimate thought-crime.

If someone has the temerity to disagree with them, it's OK to call these bad people agents, shills, Nazis, (whatever comes into your head), accuse them of crimes, smear them, assassinate their characters, write poison-pen letters about them, etc. It's just basic CT ethics.

What's funny is that my token olive branch to Dylan resulted in him banning me, at least according to "those in the know." I guess the reference to him having ANY respect for Gravy blew a gasket...

i think this is due to the extreme disrespect with which JREFers have been treated by the troofers, tbh. perhaps it's not in the best interest of the debunkers to allow frustration to vent as insults, but considering the willfull ignorance and disrespectful, degrading ways in which most CTers engage the JREF folk here, and about 325236324664325432 times more so at the LC boards, it is understandable that many active debunkers get a bit annoyed.

perhaps it's even worse that so many JREFers, after making honest, sincere attempts to debate at the LC boards were banned outwright, while many of the troofers continue to flood this board with the same, debunked crap, over and over, under sock puppets, clearly not in the least bit concerned with anything resembling honest argument.

Amen on the science education. I used to spout all kinds of crap when I was about 25 and then I had a nice long, informal, understudy with a PHD in philosophy with a specialty in the philosophy of science. He taught me a thing or two about critical thinking and what makes for good science. Before that I didn't have a clue.
