What has the truth movement actually gotten right?

This was brought up by a twoof in another thread, and I decided I really do have interest in this.

We all know about the LIES, DISTORTATIONS and personal incredulity and ignorance displayed by most truthers.

I'd like to see what they have been right about (even if it is only partially right).

Dave Rogers mentioned Gregory Ulrich's analysis which showed explosives weren't needed.

I know of David Chandlers NIST freefall analysis which showed the 2.25 seconds of freefall (even if he then went WAY off the rails and moved back into twoof fail).

What else have they gotten RIGHT?

The events in question happened on 9/11/01. I am pretty sure most of them get that right.

I believe that they still believe -

It was in NY

Thousands died

Buildings collapsed

The 2.25 freefall arguement was always irrelevent. Just made a song and dance because it was new, misunderstood and they could.

They have infact probably gotten everything right, one way or another. They are masters at self debunking so although they get it right, they just dont see it.

Please keep it civil and attack the argument rather than the person making it.

Your personal ignorance and incredulity makes you a twoof.

Now do you have any examples of what the twoof movement has gotten right or not?

They did jump on the toxic air thing at ground zero which has pretty much been born out by subsequent investigations. I'll give them that.

I have seen one of them get that wrong too.

Me too. I think it was on ebaumsworld (possibly not?) site last summer ish. Poster stated it happened on 9th Nov 2001. When pointed out to him/her that it was infact on 9 11 they said 'i know it was on 09/11/01 thats in November' or words to that effect. I think they may have been British/European as we do write our dates that way. Mistakes happen i suppose.

They seem to have lost interest in showing up for public events related to the medical conditions of the first responders.

Something from Heiwa (just the hi-lited part):

heiwa said:
Now step off the weight scale and jump on it with two feet! Then note the scale. It still indicates your weight! 200 lb! OK, there was a little bounce, but who cares?

That's the purpose of your bathroom scale! To indicate your (over)weight! It works everytime.

:)

The fact that we need to keep investigating 9/11. All the debunkers still here in this forum in 2010 have proved that much to be true. Not to mention the re investigative TV shows that keep coming out every year and still will because there has still not been any valid explanation for most aspects of what is claimed to be truth by some.

Nope, they got that wrong too.

They've generally been correct in pointing out that a lot of very low probability events occurred on 9/11.

Of course, a lot of very low probability events occurred today and they've been pretty quiet about that.

Actually the one I was thinking of was one that posted here about the Pentagon Firefighters being stood down to let the fires burn out of control. He said that the attacks were on 9/11/1998 I believe, and it looks like UNLoVedRebel has a third one.

{emphasis mine}

You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

You are off topic. Answer the OP, or be reported.

What have truthers gotten RIGHT about any of their claims for 9/11?

Your rant above does not address the OP.

Far be it from us to let a little thing like facts stand in the way of the truth.

We've had roughly this conversation before:

...It seems that TruthByDecree is trying to make the following argument, or something very like it:

  • If something is fringe, then it will be or should be completely ignored.
  • 9/11 conspiracy theories are not completely ignored.
  • Therefore, they are not fringe, but rather mainstream.
  • Therefore, they are legitimate.
It is an obvious non sequitur, however. (Holocaust denial, for example, is undoubtedly fringe pseudohistory. But it is not completely ignored*; nor necessarily should it be. This doesn’t mean, however, that Holocaust denial is somehow mainstream or legitimate.)

* Of course, it is ignored – and probably rightly so – by the vast majority of mainstream academia, just as are 9/11 conspiracy theories.
And please give the holocaust a rest already... What I would like to know if it’s so fringe then who is sending him the massive amounts of email he claims? And did you check out the comments under his articles on 9/11? I guess that’s all one guy too?
People who oppose Holocaust deniers also receive plenty of comments and email from lunatics.
