What grandeur do you lose when you deny evolution?

I'm not sure many people who deny evolution would have a problem with the version of events you present in the OP. This is because the only thing most people who disagree with evolution have a problem with is that humans and other complex organisms evolved from puddles of goo. So long as God was involved somewhere between then and now, they can accept your story.

Except in the US. Gallup polls show up to 40% of the population are straight up YEC proponents...

Any thread about evolution that's not visited by creationists isn't strong enough.

Then again, it could be that they didn't visit this thread because the OP doesn't explicitly mention any evolutionary process (as if they'd recognise a real evolutionary process, in stead of their straw men, but that's another matter).

Maybe we should discuss the length of time it takes for a certain species to evolve wings.

Or they never saw it because it is in "Science, Mathematics, Medicine and Technology" forum. They may only pay attention to "Religion and Philosophy".
