What was with with the towel guy avatar? I don't like South Park, so I didn't get it.

It was the south park creators sarcastic attempt to create a stupid character that could be made into stupid plush toys and stupid T-shirts and bilk stupid people out of their stupid money. The idea was to create the worst character ever, it was even stated in one of the episodes. What’s worse than a towel that goes around giving safety tips to people, before asking them if they “wanna get high?”
