Neither tariffs, deporting legal immigrants, nor anti-vaxxersim are or were popular ideas.

The idea that Republicans just ran on "popular ideas" and that's how Trump won is profoundly stupid.
Clearly he *did* run on popular ideas. MAGA are just lying about which ideas were popular. And, as we have seen in this thread, they don't want the discussion to be about those ideas now.

If you don’t think that’s the endgame for the unmasked fascists of the Trump administration, you need to wake the ◊◊◊◊ up.
Save us the hysterical hyperbole. They arent building gas chambers for trans people, or planning death squads or death marches. Such hysteria only hurts the cause of trans rights and makes their supporters appear unhinged.

Many MAGA Republicans probably also think that DEI is just another way of saying schools are turning children gay and trans. They always have a hard time defining what DEI is. Same as with CRT.
To the extent Democrats encouraged (more) DEI & CRT in state universities and secondary schools, doing so was either an electoral mistake or else it wasn't.

If it was not, then those aren't a good fit for the OP question.

If it was, well, I'd need to see some data on point.

It's pretty clear that MAGA does not mean good things for the Trans community in the long run, and worrying about their end goals is perfectly valid. The road from Equality to Extermination may be long, but you do not have to trust the guy encouraging everyone to "just take a few steps" down it.

well, perhaps the hysteria is justified. certainly, the trump admin has already crossed several lines that those warnings were considered hysterics only a few years ago.

in only 4 months they're shipping immigrants off to die in foreign prisons they're financing for that purpose, and threatening to send american citizens to them now. they're denying due process and the courts can't hold them accountable. so imo, that's not really a step too far away from where they are now.

where do you think it's trending?

More hysterical hyperbole. Nobody is planning death camps for trans people.

The most wrong people in history continue to be the people who tell us all the things the Trump administration would never do.

Gas chambers and death marches are your straw men. No one said anything about that. But if you don’t think the goal is death and violence for those considered undesirable, you are being dangerously foolish.

Yes, transpanic and claims that Dems campaigned too much on trans issues are absurd strawmen. Now, lets keep that bigotry in the designated thread.

If you think MAGA plans to eventually commit systematic murder of trans people, you need to get a grip.

Lets be honest, if there were gas chambers...where do you think most people would stand?

Again, you’re straw manning. Death and violence can happens without “systematic murder”. They are literally already sending people to foreign gulags without due process.

Sending illegal alien gang members to foreign prisons is a tad different than death camps for trans people.

Seriously, relax.

No, its a very real question. Previous authoritarian regimes didn't carry out genocides with official offices day 1. There's a reason it was Final Solution and not the Only Solution We'll Roll Out.

Russian pogroms, the Black Shirts in Italy, Turkish attacks on Armenains, American "settlers" going after Indians were often just "concerned citizens" taking it upon themselves to act out what they were led to believe was what their leaders wanted. In many cases, there were organization through official and unofficial channels, but the point is, they aren't waiting for their badges.
