Chants like "Zionists out of CUNY!!!", "Hillel out of Baruch!!!" and "Globalize the Intifada!!" sure doesn't target Chinese people, now does it?

those are chants. And as distasteful as those chants might be, they don't all target all Jews. I don't know about the current status of Hillel in CUNY, but Hillel International is pretty openly Zionist. And last I checked, not all Jews are Zionists. Even among Zionists, there are degrees. And again, they are chants. Not physical attacks.

So, ya, the Democrats were wrong for not curb stomping this garbage from the get go and trying to engage with Republicans like it was a good faith discussion.

I'm very sorry, but yelling and screaming for "Zionists out of CUNY!!!" or "Hillel out of CUNY", its targeting all Jews. Most Jews as a bear minimum respect the right of Israel to exist as a jewish and democratic state within the borders approved when it was founded and accepted by the United Nations. Such people, are Zionists. Whether you want to admit it or not. These ass holes are not yelling "extremist zionists out of cuny!!!" or "right-wing zionists out of cuny!!" or even "likud zionists out of cuny!!". Its simply "zionists out of cuny". Which is basically a not so clever way of attacking Jews.

As for "Hillel out of CUNY!!", that is the main jewish organization in all US and canadian colleges. Their main focus is NOT zionism, but jewish life, jewish customs, jewish holidays, jewish community. But they ARE also zionist.

Basically these protestors are calling for anyone who respects israel's right to exist in ANY form, to leave the college. And the main jewish cultural organization to leave college.

Looks like an attack on pretty much all Jewry.

Democrats should have gotten control of this situation and not tolerated it for soo long, allowing it to grow and fester like a melanoma. By the time it was finally dealt with, the damage was done.

Exactly. Tell the folks tone policing the protestors to pipe down and maybe raise some of the voices criticizing Netanyahu's attacks. Don't run around with an Israeli flag like a cape or wear a suit for the first time in your life to kiss Netanyahu's ass.
