...and as has been pointed out before, the death of the last whale will not be its tragedy, it will be ours. And sooner or later, one way or another, will we pay for the living hell we are making this earth.
But I'm not too fond of canonising the whale. All animals suffer. It strikes me as somewhat hypocritical to harp on about the death of whales (not that anybody hereis doing that), given the billions of animals we bring into the world, for no other purpose than killing.
They eat whales, shock horror!
