The use of Weston Price's old research by anti root canal, paleo diet, and anti fluoride advocates and the criticism of such for the last 20 years makes me worry.
About everything being talked is dependent on the use of just two works by the man: Dental Infections, Oral and Systemic (1923) and Nutrition and Physical Degeneration: A Comparison of Primitive and Modern Diets and Their Effects (1939)
Critics of the anti root canal supporters use of Weston Price fail to mention that in "Dental Infections and related Degenerative Diseases" J Am Med Assoc 1925;84(4):254-261 he took a more conservative approach and in Nutrition and Physical Degeneration Price admitted that he had failed to find supporting evidence. Instead these critics either make easily refuted claims about Price's work or grossly inaccurate statements about Focal Infection theory (such as saying it was disproved in the 1930s when in fact it lasted into the 1950s)
The criticism Nutrition and Physical Degeneration is even worse as rather then pointing out that at the time Price did his studies there were little to no supplemental vitamins being added into food they again go on to tangents that don't really make their case.
The type of criticism really worries me as it shows a lack of care and helps those who would misuse old out of date material that is more a snap shot of the time it came from than information that can effectively be used in the modern world.
