Someone just posted a link to that site in another thread here. I didnt gouge my eyes out but I felt sick to my stomach. Is that the church's official website? Isnt promoting hatred against minority groups against the law?

Apparently not, as he's not in jail and does this on a regular basis.

No, simply speaking hate against a group isn't illegal. It falls under freedom of speech.

So this church isnt demonstrating for the rights of defenceless children but rather using the service as a platform to demonstrate gawds hate of America?

Basically it's because we allow homosexuals to live, or something.

They are also lawyers. Many of them. They love to sue at the drop of a hat. I think one of their goals is to get someone to attack them physically so they can fatten their coffers from the resulting lawsuit.

There are several WWW sites with some historical info on the bunch. Just google Fred Phelps, and read. Just don't do it too close to having eaten, you may loose your meal. It's all a bit sickening IMHO.

Ive always wondered why, after growing up without any kind of religion, I never felt the call or the tap on the shoulder. Ive been to funerals where the happyclappers' pastor has hijacked proceedings to ask us to listen to our hearts and put our hands up if we could feel Jesus.
I just never felt it - ever, and it wasnt from lack of trying.

We were supposed to feel Jesus entering our hearts and then put our hands up in the air. The bit that tickled my funny bone at the time was everyone had to keep their eyes closed so noone else would know who got the call except the head happyclapper.
After this cr@p went on for a while about 90% of us deserted our friends service and went into the adjacent bar (it was held at a surf club) where he would have felt way more at home. The only reason there was any religious thing going on for him at all was because these happyclappers pounced on our friend's wife while she was still in shock and told her that was the right thing to do, after all she wouldnt want her husband to go to hell now would she. And of course she didnt.
The wife of our friend ended up getting an apology from head happyclapper for hijacking the service but not from Jesus.

Bearing in mind the members are almost all family/extended family, if they make anything like a living at this crap, through litigation or what have you, then yes. It will be around for as long as it supports people. When it no longer does, it will fade away.

That is my prediction, and I will take my million in small bills, please.
