Seems we will finally be able to see the super top secret memo that will prove once and for all that the DOJ is as corrupt as a Benghazi email sexting FBI agents while unemploying coal miners.

If the rumors are that this is just about FISA taps regarding Russian contacts is this all just nonsense?

Or is it all just super nonsense!?!

House Intel Committee just voted to release the GOP version of the memo and block the Democratic rebuttal memo.

Justice Department, FBI review, and classified info be-damned.

And so the damage control begins.

It began when the stacked committee voted to release Nunes' (can I come over and whisper some stuff to you off the record, Mr. President?) totally not-partisan-at-all report while squelching the Democratic committee members' version.

So, yeah, the damage control is people like you trying to take away objections that should already be being made. A bunch of political hacks running a supposed investigation and handing the report-writing over to a disgraced political hack.

Rachel Maddow has some interesting back story on Carter Page who was caught giving info to Russian spies back in 2015. The FBI busted the Russian spies at the time and continued to monitor Carter Page.

The FISA warrant couldn't possibly have been based only on the Steele dossier. Whether the Democratic memo is released of not, it will be clear that the FISA warrant to wiretap Carter Page wasn't based on the dossier.

The curious journey of Carter Page, the former Trump adviser who can’t stay out of the spotlight
“An idiot,” said a Russian agent caught on tape in a 2013 FBI investigation of a spy ring. ...

“He got hooked on Gazprom, thinking that if they have a project, he could rise up,” Podobnyy said to a fellow agent in 2013, according to a federal complaint against members of an alleged spy ring. “It’s obvious that he wants to earn lots of money.” (Page today says this exchange “doesn’t even warrant a comment.”)

The whole piece is chock full of weird stuff. That's the best label I can give it.

They will follow the Trey Gowdy track. Vote to release it and then redact parts to make it look like there is something there.

Looks like Democrats will, yet again, need to leak evidence that shows that the Republican conspiracy theory is nonsense.

It wasn't that long ago that Feinstein did this.

So much for the first amendment in Congress.

I have to agree. The damage control is the Republicans trying to discredit the FBI before the FBI can find something on Trump.

Maybe not, there's a whole slew of relative evidence coming out about just how long and in what depth the 'Rusher thing' has been actively being investigated by the FBI.

Evidence is evidence. "Discrediting" the FBI doesn't change that.

No, but if the FBI is discredited in the eyes of the public, then a partisan Congress can have a shield to hide behind if they decide not to impeach a sitting president. And without impeachment a sitting president cannot be tried for, let alone convicted of, a crime.
