Things have gone from bad to worse in the gaza strip over the past 72 hrs.
HAMAS exploded 2 car-bombs inside the Kerem Shalom crossing, as part of a coordinated muli-pronged attack on IDF troops at various points. The bombing at the Kerem Shalom crossing was the fifth attack at Israel-Gaza passages since last week. --- AP

Israel keeps the crossings into gaza functioning, so that humanitarian aid can continue to be transferred to the people living there. Hiowever, with these latest attacks (and also the one earlier in the month against the Nahal Oz fuel terminal), HAMAS is essentially declaring that they are just interested in obtaining a complete breakdown of deliveries of fuel, food and medical supplies.
Immediately following the attacks, Hamas organized two protests by women and children near two other Israel-Gaza crossings, Erez and Karni. Near Erez, scores of women and children marched toward the terminal, but stopped about a kilometer away.
What if they had not stopped? (SEE: Rafah breakthrough)
