Sorry folks, but I need help.

1. Was Eisenhower called "Ike the Kike", and if so, was it in a friendly way?

2. Was he a Jew, or could he by any family connection be assumed to be a jew?

Silly questions, I'll explain later. Those who know me also know I'm not a holocoust denier or anything along those lines (they are the ones I'm up against).

I need references, serious sources.

Anyone?

If Eisenhower had been Jewish, he would have added "under G_d" to the pledge instead.

Hmmm....might have to go to over to the religion forum and ask whether Orthodox Jews say the Pledge of Allegiance. I'm not sure it falls in the permissible range of times when it's ok to say, "God".

Also from Wikipedia, it seems that his parents were Jehovah's Witnesses, something I would not have suspected.

To my knowledge, there has never been a person who held the office of the Presidency with Jewish roots anyplace in his background. Had John Kerry been elected, he would have been the first. Kerry is Ashkenazi on his father's side, and his original family name was Kohn but was changed as a protective measure against antisemitism.

I'm sure people called him that. I got called "Mike the kike" growing up. I'm not Jewish at all, just had a name that rhymed with a slur.

That's why I think it's such a terrible idea in a sport like NASCAR who has a certain reputation over the type of fan it attracts, for Fox to use a gopher named "Digger" as their mascot. :covereyes

In no bio of Eisenhower, either concentrating on his war years, or his Presidency, has there been any reference to your "Ike The Kike." No doubt this is more European originated nonsense based purely on hatred of America and the irresistibility of a rhyme. How did you miss the obvious?

What's next, Truman The Jewman? Must be true since the U.S. voted to recognize the State of Israel in 1948.
