This time in Missouri, sounds like a disgruntled employee. So that's good at least. It's not a white supremacist, Antifa, or something politically motivated. Just good ol' "can't live without my job, got fired, so time to shoot some people."

CNN said:
A shooting at a Mississippi Walmart left two people dead, an officer wounded and a community in shock.

The gunfire broke out Tuesday morning at a store in Southaven, the third largest city in Mississippi.

A police officer was hit, but sounds like he'll be fine. The shooter may or may not be alive.

114 killed & 274 injured by gun violence in the US over the weekend.

Six mass shootings: Chicago, Washington DC, Gilroy, Philadelphia, Wichita, Brooklyn.

Can't quite see what's particularly interesting about this one.

Didn't know there was an interest factor that came into play. I'll note that for the future, thanks.

I used to think nothing would be done unless/until someone shot at politicians but that happened not too long ago and nothing resulted. Now I don't think there will be any solution attempted until guns are made obsolete by the invention of superior weapon technology. Then we'll see waves of laser shootings or mass driver attacks instead.

I guess, now that I think about it. There isn't anything interesting about any shooting at all. They're tragic, some kill a lot more than others, but pretty much people just die and America does **** all to try and prevent another.

So, I guess we just shouldn't bring them up anymore. After all, it's apparent society doesn't want to do anything about it, and as Matthew just showed, we shrug them off.

"Anything new about that shooting where multiple people died?"

"Nope, just standard"

"Oh, **** it then. Disregard, move along."

It's ******* retarded how numb we've become to this nonsense.

Typical coastal elitism. Missouri and Mississippi are completely different states, but it's all flyover country to cosmopolitan liberals.

It's ******* retarded how numb we've become to this nonsense.

About 250 people in the US died over the same weekend from privatized health care (lack of health insurance in a system without universal health care), just like they do every 2 days. Have you become so numb to that nonsense that you're not just failing to post every 2 days about it but never post about it, or does it only count as "retarded" when it's about your special-interest deaths?

Please don't do this.

Is it not, in the literal sense of the word? Using any definition. It slows our progress as a society. It impedes us from moving forward.

Ah yes, I forgot. If I have a complaint about something that's preventable. I auto ******* matically have to start a thread about every single thing that happens that's even quasi-related.

I've advocated for Universal Health Care in many threads at many times.

Jesus Christ, I posted a link. You don't like it? Don't ******* read it. If it's "cluttering" things up. Report it. Do whatever the hell you want, but yes. The lack of healthcare is also retarding our progress, as much as gun deaths are. Does that, somehow, make you happier? Does my admission of that have any change on the outcome? No? K, thanks.

No, what you did was call it "******* retarded how numb we've become" when people show lack of interest in this particular incident, but by that logic it would be impossible not to be "******* retarded" as there are so many incidents leading to preventable deaths (the health care thing is just one example) that you necessarily have to show disinterest in at least some of them, because otherwise you wouldn't be doing anything else in every waking moment and still not come anywhere near to covering it all.

Neat. You know how I show disinterest? By not posting in threads I don't have interest about. You know what signals to me that you have interest? Posting in a thread about the topic and asking questions like "What makes this one so interesting?"

Maybe I show interest or try to feign my disinterest differently than others. By posting and basically saying "Why should I care?" To me, that means something, it doesn't to you.

If people are butthurt that I used the word "retarded" in an accurate application, I'll pull a Rick Sanchez. I'm sorry you feel you deserve an apology. Nothing I said was incorrect, offensive as it may be.

Yes, let's assume for the sake of argument that every person - including you - is "******* retarded" for being numb to at least some things. Now what? What's the point of calling one individual "******* retarded" when literally everyone is?

Oh and if you're going to dispute that you're "******* retarded" as well, one could post a thread every 15 minutes that about 250 people have died from hunger, so you better not show disinterest in a single one of them lest you be, indeed, "******* retarded having become so numb to this nonsense."

I didn't call one individual retarded. If you're going to get your panties in a bunch, at least be accurate. I even included myself, as I said, "we've become". Myself included. It's a casual link to a post, and I didn't even write up some long winded bitch fest. On to your next artery popping complaint.

Ok, so after completely ignoring the post that I made, specifically showing the difference between feigning disinterest and actually not having interest, you blow a lid over...what?

Let me put this in caps, maybe you can see through the red if the letters are bigger.

THE ACT OF COMING TO A THREAD, POSTING STATISTICS THAT OBVIOUSLY HAD TO BE LOOKED UP, AND THEN SAY, "WHAT ABOUT THIS SHOOTING IS INTERESTING?" MEANS YOU'VE ALREADY SHOWN INTEREST. YOU JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT THE SUBJECT MATTER ENOUGH TO PARTICIPATE OUTSIDE OF SAYING 'THANKS, I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS UNLESS IT'S 'INTERESTING', MEANING YOU'RE NUMB TO IT.

Now, if you have something more to ******* bitch about than the words I used, perhaps we can continue. If not, I think I'll leave you to your hemorrhage inducing rage. Toodles.

Oh please, you took a moral high ground for yourself over Matthew not caring enough to find it interesting, as opposed to you who asserted that each and every one should be looked into. It's obviously impossible for anyone to look into every instance of avoidable deaths of about 250 people, so all you got is patting yourself on the back for being so morally superior that you care enough about your own special interest deaths. Enjoy your smug sense of moral superiority based on nothing whatsoever. But as you said that "cluttering it up sounds good to me" I look forward to your posts every 15 minutes of about 250 people having died from hunger. You'll do that, right - you do care don't you?

As for the "artery popping complaint" and "hemorrhage inducing rage" - it's interesting how many people should be advised to look up "psychological projection" on this forum.

Coming from the guy telling me what I was thinking and what I was doing, that's pretty funny.

Remember when there was the phrase "going postal" after a disgruntled postal worker went back and shot up his old office?

Is there a profession that this can't be said about these days?
