Wallow Fire

So far this fire is ZERO percent contained.

I just heard the same thing last night on NPR. They were interviewing one of the guys managing the firefighting effort and he openly admitted that.

That's what frightened me the most about it. Not only is it bad and they can't contain it. Its so bad they don't even bother lying about not being able to contain it.

I guess I am just used to so much spin and trying to downplay fears from officials that when somebody in charge openly admits how tough this fire is to fight, it is a bit jarring.

Best of luck to you and I hope you get this beast under control.

Yeah! Jets. I watched one of those at a California fire outside LA years ago. Awesome.

I'm a little curious where they will load it. The high altitude limits the size of the planes that can land - runways not long enough for the big jets.

Aside (not trying to steal your fire) The Flagstaff aka 'Hill' fire is out. One house burned.
Sounds like they caught the guy who lit all the fires. Said he was mad at his girlfriend or something. Also - The initial report from another fire (the "Engineeer" fire) in Bellemont last week is in - the national guard was blowing up trees with c4 explosives to make a road on a red flag fire day. Are we all crazy here? I can't make this stuff up.

The Wallow was approaching some big power lines that might impact Texas if they shut down. I wouldn't really expect anyone to send the big guns for mere rural Arizonans. :|
