WA Senate passes bump stock ban

Since scopes have a not only legitimate purpose in both sports shooting and hunting, but are kind of required in both cases to either compete or to take part in the activity with greater safety, how exactly do you think this kind of ban would work?
You don't understand. Since some people here think all shooters, especially competitive ones are murderers in training, they need to be deprived of anything that helps them become a better killer. I'm not exaggerating and neither are they. Especially those cowardly snipers who engage at a distance.

Silly idea. It doesn't address any genuine problem, would penalise genuinely law abiding shooters and would be trivially easy for people to jury rig a usable equivilent.

So far as I'm aware there isn't an explosion of sniper killings in the US, better to concentrate on things that might actually make a difference.

I mentioned earlier in this thread (or some other bump stock thread) that I doubted WA would ever compensate a bump stock owner for the property they had to destroy or surrender. It seems I was wrong, again. :)

Vouchers were issued to those WA residents who surrendered their bump stocks to the police prior to the national ban going into effect. The people who got vouchers for their bump stocks had to prove their WA residence. I read about a public records disclosure request submitted by someone who wanted the names and addresses of those who surrendered their bump stocks. Seems some people don't want their names released.
