I just discovered the previous thread I started about volunteers is missing, as are all my PMs.

If you volunteered by posting in that thread or sending me a PM, could you please do it again or email me at scott (at) randi (dot) org?

I should have saved a local copy. I'm sorry.

Hey, Scott - I did volunteer to stuff packets. I will be arriving on the 12th, and I will be staying at the Stardust.

Sign me up to help out at the Resgistration Desk! I really loved meeting everyone. I don't mind staying there most of the time if you can't find anyone else to hang out. :D

I'll also be there on the 12th, so I can help stuff packets, as well.

G6

I specifically remember that Girl 6 promised to tend the bar in the lobby. "Coyote Ugly"-style.... :D

I'll be there a couple of days in advance. I'll help where I can.

I will arrive in Las Vegas on the 9:th and not leave until the 19th, although I leave so early so my last day is probably more correctly stated as the 18th. I will live at the Stratosphere the first couple of nights but move to Stardust in time for the meeting. I gladly help with everything as far as it does not collide with the actual meeting and the workshop. So I am free to help set things up and all that stuff just do not drag me away from the lectures. :)

I'm arriving early and staying late. I can help with pretty much anything, especially meeting people. I also excel at shouting and grunting, so if you have any work that requires this, I can handle it.

Excel at shouting and grunting? Did you ever work on a Vogon constructor ship? Do the words "resistance if useless" ring a bell?

:D

I arrive on the 11th and plan to acquire a Minivan for transportation, so i can help out if multiple people need transportation or something bulky needs to be picked up.

I don't shout or grunt very well, but I'm 6'2" and 270lbs, so I have "good size" if that will help in any situation.

Scott,

Look, it's really not that difficult. Just point to the nearest persons and tell them what to do. Send someone to round up The Usual Skeptics in the hotel lobby for whatever task is at hand.

I'm certain that anyone would be honored to help out.

Do we like to work for skepticism? Are we a community or not? Why else would we be there? :)

You just speak for yourself, okay?

Just kidding... of course I´ll help. But only as long as the skepchicks are around. ;)

Hey, you had no problems helping out the last time, and - AFAIK - kitttynh was the only skepchick there.

And Hal, of course...

Hey, didn´t you see the ;) smiley?

And, don´t forget, Linda was there as well.

Not to mention Renata and Wyvern (and probably one or two I forgot) during registration.

That´s four of them, according to Mathematics for Economists II. Not counting Hal.

Edited to add: And I already volunteered earlier today. By E-Mail. I didn´t want to embarass you. :D

Sure. I just had no idea that Germ(ans) had any sense of humour... :)

Linda is in a class of her own.

Shame on you, "forgetting" skepchicks.... I will make Renata spank you silly.

Yeah, well....Hal has been known to appear in public, sporting very sexy legs...

Claims, claims.....

Indeed. You could fill several books with what you know, and several libraries with what you don´t know. :D

Linda is in a class of her own.

I see that we agree.

I look forward to that.

Yeah, well....Hal has been known to appear in public, sporting very sexy legs...

Common decency demands that I leave this comment uncommented on... :)

Claims, claims.....

Narrow-minded skeptic! :p

This year, both Mom and I will be there stuffing packets, I imagine... in addition to some other skepchicks, perhaps...

I'll be in Vegas from the 10th-17th, Scott. You and Linda can keep me busy doing whatever... I'm there to help as much as possible.

In case it's any motivation for any skepdudes, I imagine I'll be wearing my registration packet-stuffing uniform of high heels and tight jeans... Mom bought me these crazy red boots that I just love.

If I had not already volunteered that would indeed be a motive to do so.
Only problem I see is that although there is no problem to get skepdudes to volunteer how are we going to get anything done with you distracting us in that uniform? ;)
I suppose this is where the shouting and grunting comes in. :)

Oh great, now everyone is going to think I volunteered because you did :(

Hey Scott,

I'll be arriving by midday on the 11th, and will stay until sometime on the 18th.

I'm good at packing, unpacking, sorting, arranging, and moving stuff around in general. (I'll find some papercut-proof gloves this time so as not to present a biohazard.)

I have extensive experience in skepchick security. (References available on request.)

I can even write legibly. (Roman-based lettering systems only.)

It's hopefully not a well kept secret that the best time for meeting people and making friends is stuffing packets the day before. Also Mr.Randi has been known to find us (despite Linda's best efforts to keep our whereabout quiet) and perform a magic trick or two!

Pool Boy will be dragged into stuffing and helping out as he was last year. We will ignore his whining and all his helpful hints on "how this could be done in a more efficiant manner". He also demands that we NOT lose the packets before we even begin to stuff them this year! (It wasn't us, it was the hotel!).

Seriously, I would have missed half the fun if I hadn't stuffed packets. Did I mention that Renata showed up? I went out to eat with her afterward and I want to tell you that she is the funniest, coolest, and beautiful Russian out there! Hey, get to hang out with her before all the other skeptics come to town.
