Sorry, but I can't seem to think of anything essential that we can't do without for a few days, or even weeks. Mainly because those essential things are normally safety stocked, to allow for just such situations (although things like strikes are more likely scenarios, but with similar effects).I'm sure we will manage but if it goes on for a couple of days we will start to notice the knock-on effect, for example no green beans from Kenya by the weekend (I know not a necessity but it's a good example), these are usually flown in, sent to the distribution centres and sent on to the supermarkets in about 36 hours.
Green beans, indeed!
On the bright side, we will at least defer some massive CO2 emissions ....
