Indeed, Geller's switch from psychic to magician started in 2007. But maybe Geller said something more recently that Randi referenced?

up until this point I had nothing but distain for Uri, that statement introduced just a small piece of "admiration" into my minds perception

In Germany up to February 2008, according to BILD (not the best of sources I know), it states:

..Der 61-Jährige behauptet immer mal wieder, seine Kräfte von Außerirdischen, von Gott oder von einer anderen höheren Macht erhalten zu haben. Eine seriöse wissenschaftliche Überprüfung seiner angeblichen telekinetischen Fähigkeiten gab es bisher nicht.

Brief translation:

... the 61 year old still maintains having received his powers from aliens, God or another higher power. Serious scientific studies have to date not been able to test his supposed telekinetic abilities.

Note that in a later interview Uri qualified this stating:

"I said to this German magazine, so what I did say, that I changed my character, to the best of my recollection, and I no longer say that I do supernatural things. It doesn't mean that I don't have powers. It means that I don't say 'it's supernatural', I say 'I'm a mystifier!' That's what I said. And the sceptics turned it around and said, 'Uri Geller said he's a magician!' I never said that."
