Videla died in prison

The former Argentinian dictator Jorge Videla today died in prison. After the overthrow of the military dictatorship in 1983, he was convicted of mass murder and torture in 1985. Subsequently, he was pardoned in 1990. In 2008, he was again convicted of mass murders and later also of baby kidnapping. (BBC article).

All in all, he only spent 10 of the 30 years since the end of the dictatorship in prison, far too little.

Good riddance.
