Is Victoria Jackson for real? Or is she pulling a some kind of performance art stunt?

For those who don't know, she used to be on Saturday Night Live specializing in playing ditzy blonds. She has a very high nasally whiny voice. Even though she played ditzy, I'd seen interviews with her some time ago and she seemed intelligent.

It seems nowadays, she is speaking at Tea Party gatherings and she's been on FoxNews a few times. She calls Obama a communist and says that Glen Beck has taught her well. She sounds totally batcrap nuts.

She's so over the top, Hannity was embarrassed for her, when he had her on. I'm just wondering if it's an act or not, doing an extreme version of Stephen Colbert's schtick.

They showed a clip of her on either The Daily Show or Colbert. As mentioned, she's been at this for years. Frankly, I'm surprised Hannity was embarrassed for her because that guy will say almost anything.

She is for real.

She has been trying to pull a Kirk Cameron since the late 90s-early 00s. I remember seeing an interview with her in some religious magazine about how she only does clean humor, and then later seeing her in some special about the new conservative face of Hollywood or something.

Other than that she was always a tertiary actor on SNL, and pretty much needed a more accomplished comedian or actor to carry her. After SNL she went off to the bright and shinning world of playing a tertiary character to lil' Romeo on Nick.

Wow! If you were to do a hyper-exaggerated satire of a celebrity talking politics, I don't think you would be as over the top as she is. She makes most ignorant celebrities spouting political diatribes sound like Churchill.

Oh if it weren't for the fact that there is so much evidence of just how bad and unfunny she really is I would assume it was all an act.

She is absolutely for real, and is just as batstuff crazy as she looks. From listening to her a few times in the last year, it's obvious that her "dimwit blonde" character is actually her real personality, and that she could never act at all.

She is living somewhere here in FL, afaik, and married to some law enforcement pilot.

Whoever that is, I feel sorry for him.

I think my biggest problem with Victoria Jackson is that she has had a long history of interaction with Weird Al. Jackson being bat-guano loony doesn't bother me, because no one can take her seriously, can they?

But the association with Weird Al really worries me about him. He doesn't agree with her at all, does he?

I know this is an old thread but I typed, "Is Victoria Jackson for real?" into Google after watching this video and this thread popped up.

I still cannot believe it. She's a friend of Weird Al, isn't she? He's, like, some sort of super smart, funny, together guy, isn't he? This has to be a joke, but from reading this thread, she's been at this a long time? And she still sounds like a moron? Oh, Victoria.

Victoria Jackson Goes to "Occupy Wall Street.

She affects a certain kind of Christian femininity that I saw a lot of living in the south. If she's faking it you might as well assume that thousands more southern women are too.

No but that's unrelated to whether they can get along in person.

I don't what her deal is but I know one thing, if I was a tea partier I would think she was an embarrassment to the movement and I would disassociate myself with her at all cost. It really is like she's satirizing tea baggers but if she's acting she's been putting on this show for an awfully long time...

She plays the part of the vacuous, ditsy airhead all too well.

I understand that. I even have friends that I get along with fine even though we disagree on a lot of things. I even have a coworker that is a conspiracy nut that I get along fine with as long as we don't talk about certain things.

While we may disagree, they at least know what they are talking about and can converse about it intelligently. She just seems to be parroting questions that are meant to be inflammatory and that's it. It doesn't go beyond, "You know Obama is a Marxist, right? He's in bed with GE, that doesn't bother you?" and she's got no response beyond that. Dunno, it just seems like a joke. But is just plain sad if it's not.

Victoria Jackson is real nut!

Which is a shame since I have liked her in everything that I have ever seen her in: Saturday Night Live, Real Sex, UHF, X-Files, etc.

Nobody could possibly stay in such an absurd and made-up character in public for that many years without going utterly guanophrenic.

Ever seen her not acting batcrapcrazy?

And I never did get her as a performer.
