Here are some high resolution pictures of the Verizon Building (adjacent to WTC7) after 9/11:
Don't know if these have been posted before, but have not found them searching on the forum. Found these while working on a new Wikipedia article, which includes some FEMA photos that I think you have seen before.

Thanks for the pics. My mother was an employee of Verizon (not NY) but her boss was actually supposed to be attending a meeting that day (9/11/2001), luckily the meeting was scheduled for late in the morning. My mother was actually worried about her boss and hoped that everyone was alright. She was glad to hear, that everyone had been evacuate in time.

those images serve well to show us how devastating the damage was. I keep on forgetting how beautiful that building is.

The $1.4 billion price tag on restoring the building was jaw dropping. I first thought it was a typo, couldn't believe it cost that much. But, other sources confirm the price tag. The new WTC7 is obviously a fairly simple design and structure, but only cost half that to build from scratch. Much of the cost of restoring the Verizon Building was for the intricate work, restoring the ornamentation in the facade and the murals in the lobby.

This was a "fact of the day" on the main page of Wikipedia. The main page has been updated with new facts, but was on there this morning.

Those pictures show how strong those old buildings are. That building got hammered by tower 1 and WTC 7 and still managed to stand. The interesting thing is, in an earthquake I bet WTC 7 would have done better. Can you imagine what it would cost to build that building today?

So, I guess the CD of WTC 7 was a failure if it caused that much damage to the verizon building.
