Various acknowledgments for TAM7

Hey Paperskater,
Sorry for not spending more time chatting.

Like you, I leave the enjoyment of alcoholic beverages to those who appreciate their charms. No need wasting perfectly good beer/wine/whiskey on me.

It was fun watching you scurry about, trying to soak it all in. As far as I'm concerned, you represent the soul of TAM.

What can I say? We shared a moment in time that will be on DVD forever!

Plus, I was so nervous back stage, and your energy and enthusiam kept me from taking the first plane out of town!

I can't think of ANYONE that would have been a better assistant. Seriously, one mess up, and I'd have been waving my hand thinking "she forgot the carrot!"

I was seriously going with Tobias up until the last minute. I mean, sure he would never have fit under the table, sure he would not have been sober, sure he and I have language problems, sure he would have made Mr.Pinky a large part of the act....

(see what I mean! You were PERFECT, and now you are a friend!)

kitty, although Tobias may not have fit under the table as nicely, I bet the act would have been VERY interesting! :newlol

A special thanks to wafanso for letting me borrow his iPod charger as I stupidly forgot mine at home!

I want to give Xenxabar a special shout-out for not only bringing homemade beef jerky again this year after it was such a big hit last year, but for being kind enough to save me some when I couldn't make the Skepchick party and give it to me the next day. Is there anything more awesome than a guy who cures his own meats and shares the proceeds?

As for the woman who knitted me a pair of tiny yellow booties during one of the panels and gave them to the people at the Skeptics Society booth to give to me...I spent all weekend trying to find you and was unsuccessful. But your kind gesture made me cry like the big hormonal wuss I am.

As usual, I met lots of new people. As usual, I can't remember all of the names. And many of them don't post here on the forum.

But:

To kittynh for always being a great roommate, even though it was for only one night this time and we were both so tired we barely spoke.

To Loon and Cleon and Fitter for being some of my favorite people to talk to, and who have been to every JREF event I've been on. Gentlemen and scholars, and protectors of women when needed. (You know what I'm talking about). Thanks for the drinks and the lifetime supply of toffee and all the hugs.

To Hal Bidlack for the good conversation on the last night and the support during the discussions on dating in the military and other wordviews. :D

To LostAngeles and Eos of the Eons and Kochanski and paperskater and (Mrs.) Scotth (scott hurst) and Hokulele and her mom and Skankarella. I sometimes spend weeks without having conversations with women, and to get to talk to all of you and other smart sexy women at ONCE, just rocks. And fills me up for a while.

To others that I spent some time with, always too short: Critical Thanking and El Spectre and hcmom and Terry and JeffWagg (you rock) and Teek and SurlyAmy (is she on the forum?) and Linda and Karl and iiwo and Arth and Dr A and CCP and HUTCH! and skeptikhatt and brainless and Kate and of course Marquis! and

everyone!

Awww! I have to say there are way too many folks to write about! Kudos to you guys for even giving any shout outs. I'm overwhelmed by all the people I met and got to chat with and hug and chat with some more and ogle and stalk. There were so many Albertans there this time. I think I've facebooked most of them now. The guys living the most close to me started their TAM photo album under "Stettler Gays Do Vegas". Makes me smile every time I see it.
My roomies were so much fun, so awesome. Thank you Tamazon and your sis!
I also smile whenever I think of Nathan Hinman's question to Adam Savage. It was hilarious, and got the desired result.
Everything and everyone was so grand that I'm again overwhelmed just thinking about it. I'm afraid to leave one name out though.
It was plain amazing to see so many women this time.

I remember talking to and/or hugging all of these people: Articulette, Jas (whose new long hairdo is sooo hawt), Geek Goddess & her two offspring/spawn, Paper Skater, LostAngeles, MLynn, Chicken Pot Pie, AB Kovacs, Rebecca, KittyNH, Kitten, Kochanski, Hokulele, Tamazon (of course) & Sister, Saganite, Ottle, tkingdoll, hcmom, Miss_Kitt and cute offspring, Harriet Hall, Hutch, Phyz (most awesome physics teacher, ever!), Wowbagger, Loon, RustyPouch, Fitter, Xenxabar, NobbyNobbs, Exarch, kmortis, Tobias, Starthinker, Cleon, The Central Scrutinizer, MattusMaximus, PaulA, KingMerv00, PaulK, Dr Adequate, TaoMacGuy, Arthwollipot, markb, Marquis de CarabasHoratius, CriticalThanking, Doctor Evil, Desktop Icon, Patricio, Tim Farley, Dr. Buzzo, RSL and His Better Half, SkepticScott, Jeff Wagg, Phil Plait, Hal Bidlack, Richard Saunders, Randi, Penn, Teller, Dr. Joe, Sean McCabe, Brian Dunning and his Lovely wife, George Hrab, Adam Savage, Steven Novella, and several others who are not forumites or a regular part of the JREF! The Canadians who met up took up the entire restaurant across the street! I remember Chris and Jake too (I'm not sure they have forum names). I have no idea if Sean and Darcy (Stettlerites), Mike and Helen, Jerry or Chris, and the Edmonton crew (including Nathan) and numerous other skepchicks ever post here.

I'll never forget the time that Randi was exiting the main room as fast as he could get his wheelchair to go, while saying "beep beep, beep beep". So cute!

I'm still on the TAM high. I wish it would never ever go away!

I have to thank Fitter for lending us his car too! We wouldn't have gotten to see the Bellagio and Ceasar's Palace (my roomies wouldn't have been able to make their Victoria's secret purchases) otherwise.
And who brought the minties again?

***And who was the guy handing out chocolates at the skepchick party whose excuse for not offering me one was that he didn't know if I was a skepchick? LOL!
