While USAia was declared measles free in 2000 the current outbreak has seen more than six hundred cases, most of them ~80%) in Texas. Sixty people have been hospitalised and two children and one adult have died, so far.
And the disease is spreading, Kansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico have clusters that originated in Texas, while the outbreak in Ohio has also been linked.

This is probably only the beginning. Thanks to the Trump/Republican backing of anti-vaccination lies, the defunding of local, national and international health programmes several experts (notably Thomas Frieden, former CDC director) have stated that such outbreak are likely to become more common and severe.

And the opposite is true. Supplements in the US are not regulated the same as pharmaceuticals. Anyone can throw up a shingle and start making and selling vitamins, and various protein powders, and whatever else you find in those isles with little to no oversite from Uncle Sam, and even most state authorities. And yet they frame themselves as oppressed even while making $211.68 billion (projected) this year.

To be fair, he didn't start it, anti-vax has been a thing as long as there have been vaccinations. Mostly all the same rhetoric even. Wakefield just gave it some steriods. Somewhat ironically in that he did the thing a lot of anti-vaxers claim big pharma does by faking the whole autism link in order to sell his on vaccines.
