US alt-right leader arrested for domestic violence; neo-Nazi group dissolves

These are exactly the type of people who were emboldened to come out from under their rocks by Trump and some other Republican leaders playing "non nod wink wink" with racist and xenophobic views. Previously these low lives knew that their views were considered with disgust and revulsion by the vast majority of Americans- yes they believed in this crap but they were smart enough to keep it to themselves and the few scummy pals who agreed with them. But then some politicians, seeking to exploit these idiots, made it seem okay to for them to hold and share these abhorrent views. Not just okay, but perhaps even laudable! They're "good people," right? And pretty soon a couple of escapees from day time TV form the Traditionalist Worker's Party and think the future lies with them. Until they start lying with one another's wives and daughters.

How long must we endure before this trash is once again publicly embarrassed enough to crawl back under their rocks?

I guess I need to know that when someone says they are going to "punch a Nazi" it means they are punching someone from the alt-right, since they are synonymous. So when someone says that person is alt-right they are saying that person is a Nazi.

ETA:

Ok I read this article http://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/374697-its-time-for-conservatives-to-retire-the-term-alt-right I think I understand better now.

I love the way that article infantilizes alt-right sympathizers; but the writer's characterization that "left media" forcefully conflated white supremacists and the so-called "non-racist alt-right", and that the alt-right and their leaders just ignorantly went along with it because they were too stupid to know any better, is fairly dishonest. Alt-righters embraced neo-Nazis like Richard Spencer and the National Policy Institute and the Traditionalist Workers Party and "Pepe the frog" all on their own. They willfully attended neo-Nazi-organized rallies and marched next to them chanting "White lives matter" around Robert Lee statues; they supported Spencer's college tour and unanimously attacked institutions who tried to keep him away as anti-conservative generally. They are responsible for their own actions; it's not the media's job to ignore what they say or who they line up behind.

I have always understood 'alt-right' to just be a rebrand of what would previously have been called far right.

So I would say not all the alt-right are card carrying neo-nazis. Some are just people who just agree with a lot of what neo-nazi's think, but are smart enough not to call themselves far right.

US alt-right leader arrested for domestic violence; neo-Nazi group dissolves in hydrofluoric acid!!!!!! (FTFY!!!!!)

Are alt-right and neo-nazi interchangeable now?

They've been effectively one and the same for years now - and for reference, the main difference between the "alt-right" and the "alt-light" is the nazi fetishization - the latter was created by white supremacist and conspiracy theorist (I mean like "Pizzagate", not just the "white genocide" sense) Mike Cernovich, after that tape of Richard Spencer shouting Nazi slogans while his audience did Nazi salutes came out.

Anyway, it's nice to see wannabe genocidal maniacs go back to fighting and attacking one another, instead of attacking random innocent people like they've been doing lately.

As I have often observed, the people who obsess about the purity of the white race are generally those who would be prevented from passing on their genes under any rational system of eugenics.

Not that there is such a thing.

I do wonder if such people loudly proclaim white supremacy because of a niggling worry about their own inferiority.

Not theirs. They tend to be fundie Xians, so the world is only 6000 years old and being black is the Mark of Cain.

That's one of the scumbags from the Louisville Trump rally (who were sued). He's the one in the MAGA cap. Swell guy and real courageous. Check out how he backs down and laughs when the security gorilla pushes him back.

He also tried to drop a dime on Donnie Johnny, saying he was a decent sort of guy and it was only because of the exhortations of Trump that he acted as he did.

And this dood ain't alt-right. He's out-and-out nazi. When he was being tried for something or the other (I think it was the suit for the Louisville incident) his supporters outside were chanting "Heil Heimbach!"

6/10 on the springer scale.

"very fine people."
How much is that on the Maury scale? :)

I was intrigued by this part:
David “Matt” Parrott was the party’s spokesperson until Tuesday, when he quit in a statement to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
<snip>
Parrott, who quit his post as the TWP’s spokesperson Tuesday, claimed the incident was the end of the white nationalist group. After he announced his resignation to the SPLC on Tuesday, the TWP website went offline. Parrott claimed he’d pulled the site in order to destroy TWP membership data in anticipation of people leaving the group en masse.
Why, as a Neo-Nazi, do you announce the dissolution of your party in a statement to the SPLC? Is this a ploy in the hope that the SPLC will forget about him, while he sets up a new party with a couple of buddies who don't boink his wife?

ETA: Is he really so naive to think that anything he does now would change the fact that the SPLC's website will, even ten years from now, tell its readers he was the spokesperson of the TWP?

Actually this is very important in terms of Earth's ecology and how microbial communities operate to recycle essential nutrients. BTW: the microbes one finds in poop have many more positive traits than Nazis and the neo-right.

Quite true.....the microbes have a very useful function - they can break down poop and kkknazis with ease!!!

The best thing about this story is that if someone were to write a parody of a story about conflict within a neo-Nazi group, this story is what they would write. I love the image of a Nazi leader standing on a box outside of a trailer watching somebody have sex with his wife, and alerting them to his presence by falling off the box. It's out of a bad TV sitcom portraying idiots.

And then the other guy, caught in the act with the man's wife, goes home and tries to get his own wife to talk to the police. That part isn't quite so funny because he actually choked people and they could have died. It would be a better script if he simply accidentally punched the husband thinking it was a burglar, and then he just was pleading with his wife, "Honey, I punched a guy because he interrupted me having sex with your stepmother...(or was it the daughter, that would be funnier)...could you go tell them I was here with you the whole time?"

I want The Onion to run a piece on this that is absolutely true, with a note at the end saying, "Note: Unlike most of our stories, this one is true. We didn't have to make anything up."

Yes Meadmaker, The story deserves a wider audience, and The Onion would be an ideal vehicle.

It's pretty much the lowest bar possible for a sense of superiority.
