constant speed of light and quantum uncertainty
Speed of light is apparently constant in the vacuum but varies in different media.
According to the quantum physics, vacuum state is not really empty but has vacuum fluctuations with virtual particles popping in and out.
On the other hand, most of the atom’s space is vacuum with its quantum fluctuations.
So, if the speed of light is constant, then it must be the same in all media and vacuum.
If one thinks that the photons get slowed by the presence of matter particles in the medium’s atoms, then why are they not affected similarly in gravitational fields?
Apparently speed of light is not constant in the quantum microcosm and subjected to the same quantum fluctuations and uncertainty.
So, one step down, the constancy of speed of light holds true only in the macroworld.
But quantum uncertainty also seems to exist/ extend into the macroworld. Macro-aggregates of molecules were shown to pass through the double slits just like the electrons! (Bucky balls’ experiment)
So, the constant speed of light has no place to hide (except in the irrational minds that are distorted by mathematical delusions)
