Merged UFO @ Jerusalem, 2011. Call Captain-D

Yes, quite clearly they are fake.

Maybe that's why these ones are 'grabbing the imagination' of the believers with such enthusiasm.

But, I've seen many UFO videos with talking in them and it's no surprise to me that when humans make hoaxes, there are always humans around to add a bit of talking.

Can you offer some explanation to why they are fake?

Can you show me some other ufo hoax video with acting and dialogue in it?

Well that doesn't necessarily mean they are acting. The responses could still be genuine yet it was just not a real ufo. That's a logical fallacy.

Video 3 had someone asking about a ufo specifically (we see a lot of them) which clearly is not something you say during an opening of a new pizza shop (not like you hear of people gathering around an opening of a new pizza shop).

So now my understanding is that after all this you have no opinions about video 1 which is what I have been asking about. You should've just said that instead of claiming without any proof that the people in the video 1 are acting.

I think it's your posts that aren't adding much to the discussion.

You seem to want posters to demonstrate that people in the videos are acting. You don't seem to care that there is evidence that the videos are faked, all you care about is whether the people are acting or not.

It's almost as if you think that people are incapable of acting a lie:

Yes, they could be acting, yes, it could be dialogue recorded in another situation, yes, it doesn't matter, because the primary evidence is the video footage. That's what needs to be looked at, and that's what needs to be analyzed first.

Acting is easy.

Sometimes it's just not worth the trouble.

Thing is, you don't get to do the laughing part until things like this are demonstrated to be genuine. When that happens you can laugh your arse off, but until then . . .

How, then, do you know it is fake without taking the "trouble"?

The same specific elements that led me to realise that Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobe weren't fighting with real light sabres.

What elements would those be? I.e. if you did not know that that was a movie, how would you discover its fakeness?

It's also pretty easy to claim someone is acting. Those people are still part of the video so it is still relevant.

What I have a hard time believing is that someone would go so far to act in this video to make a hoax video about a ufo. Not that people are incapable of acting or lying.

I'm curious about this: Is there some exterior surveillance camera records of the time this happened, from those buildings there? (Do they have surveillance cameras in this country or is it too "poor" for such stuff??? (Obviously, they have handheld DV cams so they should have surveillance cams, no?)) Even if none of them actually were pointed wherever the "object" would have been, if they were pointed in the right direction and close by, all that light from the flash, no? If there isn't, that would provide more evidence for a hoax. If there is, then we might be on to something interesting (though not necessarily an alien spacecraft).

This is Israel. It's not too "poor," and it's certain they would have had CCTV cameras aimed at this location, which would undoubtedly have captured this event, had it been real.

The fact that none of that video has surfaced I think says a lot about its authenticity.

After a quick one-minute search--I'm sure you've seen this UFO hoax before:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up5jmbSjWkw

Do you think the gasp heard in the audio means the video is real? What if they'd added a "My God--what is that?!" Would that make it any more real?

Of course it wouldn't.

A gasp is generic so it can be taken easily from anywhere else. The difference is that the talking heard in video 1 was much more detailed and fairly specific to the event which is why I find it interesting. This Haiti video hardly compares. Bad example.

Also can you prove to me that is fake? Just wondering what the explanation would be.

It's a trivial thing to go from a gasp to reading a line.

I see you're not too familiar with recent UFO hoaxes.

Here's a link:

Hint: That one was CG.

ETA: As you can see, some people make these for fun. How difficult do you think it would be to get some friends to record a couple of lines?

People who make fake UFO videos don't have any friends, so how DO they do it?

What I have a hard time believing is that someone would go so far to act in this video to make a hoax video about a ufo.

And yet you believe that they'd spend the time creating 4 different films from 4 different angles and compositing CGI in to all of them? I can tell you that the latter takes far more time and effort.

Acting is actually going less "far" than making the video in the first place.

That's not what I'm asking. I know it's not hard to act. It's whether someone would do all that just for a hoax.

Explain to me why these videos are fake. You haven't done that yet.

Normal human psychology, kageki. The desire to fool others is common, as is the desire to be a part of something and have your 15 minutes of fame. With this particular - probable - hoax, one video surfaces and then another, and it's not long before copycat videos can be made by others, all wanting to be a part of something going big on the internet.

Hoaxing is not new. Think about how much effort went into The Piltdown Man hoax in the days before internet and television, when the perpetrator Woodward had to construct the skull, present it to the British Museum and write papers to support his hoax. A lot of effort for something he knew was fake, right? But he wanted people to believe in his theory of human evolution, just like people making hoaxed UFO videos want others to believe that the aliens are here.

I didn't say that I knew it was fake. I said that sometimes it's not worth taking the trouble to debunk it for myself.

Well, old man, I will tell you news of your son:
give me your blessing: truth will come to light;
murder cannot be hid long; a man's son may,
but at the length truth will out.

But I did know that it was movie. Am I supposed to pretend that I don't know these things in order to trick myself into believing that fake things are real?

No thank you.

Do you know what, and where, the Dome of the Rock is?

(Do they have surveillance cameras in this country or is it too "poor" for such stuff???

I'll take that as a 'No" then.

(Obviously, they have handheld DV cams so they should have surveillance cams, no?))

Have you googled 'dome of the rock' yet? Any closer to answering your own question?

What have your own investigations revealed so far?
