Any normal presidency, yes. But Trump has brought formerly independent branches like the DOJ etc under the control of his toadies. Even with losses in the house and senate, he still has a lot of ways to cause havoc through those institutions in ways that former lame ducks wouldn't have dared.

I just listened to a psychologist talking about Trump. His wandering off has gotten worse. I posted a video of one incident in another thread. He is increasingly getting angry with people. Another step on the dementia scale. The psych predicted he will soon physically attack someone.
Another prediction I thought was a little chilling. He said a colleague said it would be good for us for him to finally go full mental. The psychologist disagreed. He said "When is an animal the most dangerous? When they are cornered." A cornered animal with access to nuclear weapons.

I think the next step is going to be his deteriorating filter lets him say something even he can't recover from. He's going to admit to rape, Russian collusion, or both. And he might not even realize it when he does.

Because of all the lying and cheating by Democrats, patriots will realize that Alito must be replaced before the fake Senators can be sworn in. A new illegitimate Congress will do what Democrats always do: launch phoney investigations to waste taxpayer money. The Trump administration, which the President gives rating of "A-plus-plus-plus-plus-plus," cannot cooperate with evil. He will need to fight back. Omar (D-Somalia) is only the beginning.

I have to be honest, I am struggling to imagine anything he could say or do that would turn any of his hardcore followers against him
Admitting to rape? The Magas would start raping each other at rallies.
Admitting to murder? They'd have shirts saying "murder me next mr president!"
Admitting to collusion with Russia? They'd be selling "Trump/Putin 2028" bumper stickers to each other within 24 hours.
Having a Saddam Hussein style meeting of his cabinet where several members are removed and executed on the spot for being disloyal? The magas would cheer and dream of the same thing happening at their places of work.
These people are so in thrall to their cult leader, I'm not sure there is anything that could shake them.
