Twitter FTW! I'm a forum newb and a TAM noob, bout I'm all about Twitter. Here's a deal: Y'all help me out with my first TAM, and I'll help you with Twitter.
OK Dezrah, I'll take you up on that (or anyone who can get the info to me quicker) I want to make sure I am doing this right.
To twitter to someone that I know their name I just type
D: name
and then start writing, is that right. They will be able to respond to me how?

Remember folks, the TAM7 account is going to be used exclusively for chatter about what's going on outside the actual conference (e.g. dinner plans, streaking, etc.). It is not for:
1. Twittering a blow-by-blow synopsis of what the speakers are saying during the conference.
or
2. Pre-TAM stuff.
I set this account up so far in advance to make sure the GroupTweet function was going to work OK for us and to leave ample time to find a substitute should we need to do so. It does appear to work fine so I'm leaving it in place.
But... we have over 90 people following the account and they signed up based on the expected usage that I outlined above. So please, follow the TAM7 account if you're interested, but then forget it exists until July. I'll probably hit it a couple times between now and then to make sure everything is still working as it should, but that should be the only traffic on it until we're all in Vegas and trying to score rides to the strip clubs. I mean, clubs on the strip. Yeah, that's right.

Looks like someone beat me to the twitter help. Sorry about that. My biggest piece of advice is to skip the twitter webpage entirely and download a stand-alone app. Twhirl for Windows is my favorite: (apparently, I'm a noob, so I can't post a direct link, sorry)

OK, I created an account and am a follower of TAM7. Waiting for TAM7 to follow me.
A tech conference I recently attended used the free 'twazzup' service on a large monitor in a common area. Unlike Twitter search by itself it'll automatically display the 'real time' feed.
