Trust me... I'm a Healer (Part 2)

I'm betting that woman never had cancer to be healed anyway. The Doctor said he would have to see her medical records to make a judgement, but such a world changing power should be investigated by a medical board surely?

What is the legalities of what he does? Isn't it fraud at the end of the day?

I know I posted this link above, but even the true believers are having a bit of trouble reconciling what they seen last night with their beliefs.

He seems to have changed an awful lot since then, and not necessarily for the better. A lot of ego seems to have crept in, which is a shame. What marks the great healers/spiritual leaders (which is how he seems to see himself now) is their great compassion and lack of high opinions of themselves. He's obviously reached a point where he doesn't feel the need to defend or explain his work, but he seemed so defensive and just downright annoying and is obviously enjoying the trappings of success. It was hard to warm to him or his work.

Watching Steven and his wife drive around in Mercs and seeing the nice swish swimming pool in his mamouth garden didnt sit comfy with me... Yes we all have to make money but this seemed excessive, espeicially when he flippantly said he wasnt expensive at £25 for a couple of minutes.. yeah try it once or twice and then decide! I think were his words.

Quite a lot about Turoff in this thread too:

http://www.healthypages.net/forum/tm.asp?m=296470&mpage=1&key=Steven,Turoff&#296470

including this :gasp: :gasp:

I want to see stephen for emotional healing and he said he could not help me but still took my money.I was very upset.Does any one knew of a good psychic surgrey parson in sussex?

If you have never discovered healthypages.net before, I wouldn't stay too long, it is a very dispiriting place.

Note: Spelling and grammar are obviously not core competencies of the spiritually healed.

If you're a skeptic staying long isn't usually an option. With a ban following any skepticism.Ironicaly I was reading that forum before coming back after my previous post. Some guy claiming he was "healed" of some lung disease, not cured altogether though.Plenty of other psychic healers on there too.

Love and light.:p

From healthypages.net:

"PS I have seen a TV programme which disparaged Stephen and called him a fraud, but I would still recommend him wholeheartedly"

Funny how she can be skeptical about the TV programme but can't apply the same skepticism to Steven himself.

Can't wait.....tomorrow on BBC2

Trust Me, I'm a Healer

Mon 22 Jan, 10:00 pm - 10:30 pm 30mins

Ray and Gillian Brown have been married for fifteen years and share their lives with another man: St Paul. He takes over Ray's body on a regular basis, so they believe, allowing him to heal.

I think Ive seen this wacko before.Must remember to tune in.
But then there are a few people who get taken over by Saints and Egyptian Kings etc. I get confused.

To warm you all up..

Why do they even try

You got to wonder just how desperate some people are to show up at this fakes doorstep. How many times has psychic surgery been proven has the fake and on TV for everyone to see. Yet people show up and bringing money, I wonder if their insurance paid 80% HEH HEH.:D

What is it about woos that makes them incapable of using a camera without getting some kind of optical defect or developing error?
He's not fooling anyone, you talking exercise ball. Besides, everyone knows any spirit worth photographing are blue. Yes.

I looked at his testimonials page.
Isn't it always so surprising to find that people are "cured" only of relatively unimportant, self-limiting, variable and medically-vague illnesses such as irritable bowel and are never cured of serious illesses such as malignancy, leukaemia, HIV, blindness etc?

I got my Private Medical Health policy through last weekend, it has £600 allowance for complementary medicine - the only stipulation seems to be that the practicioner should be experienced. I'll need to check the small print. Otherwise I will be trying out some of this psychic surgery :jaw-dropp

Seriously I would complain but as I work for the same company that provides the cover, it's not something I could pursue at the moment.

Not wishing to spam, but one of the links on Ray's page link to this
http://www.spirit-portraits.co.uk/spirit.htm

:D

That site is even more revealing - the second portrait has the caption (highlight by me):

Tommy is a lovely Spirit friend, who died at the age of 9 in London about 200 years ago after being trampled by a horse-drawn tram.

Someone is telling porkies: http://www.icons.org.uk/theicons/collection/routemaster-bus/biography/before-the-routemaster

...snip...

n 1861, George Train started London's first horse-drawn tram service, running routes in Bayswater, Victoria and Kennington. However, these only lasted a few months because the rails they used obstructed other road vehicles.
...snip...

2007 (to be generous) -200 = 1807 not 1861.

Watching these people has forced me to revisit my opinion of the patients who use them. While some are no doubt desperate others must be incredibly stupid as well. That these people are visiting the alternative feelers, when they could be spending even more time clogging the waiting rooms of proper doctors is I suppose a good thing for those of us who fund the NHS.

On the bright side the workings of Darwinian theory will mean that some users of these practitioners will die before passing on the defective genes that causes their bullsh1t detector to fail.

If I had the money(although a refund would surely be due anyway)I would visit these people and expose their sorry fantasies.
I will be popping along to Mia Dolan when she is in my area in March, though.Better take along a challenge application as it seemed she mistakenly thought she had applied some years ago.:)

Well these programmes get more depressing. I felt so sorry for his lawyer daughter who rarely visits - getting upset - probably thinking he is either a fraud or mentally ill.

The skepticism gets less as well.
I too felt sorry for the daughter. How can these people get away with charging money for such bogus services? I don't mean lawyers! :p

I can understand the attitude the film maker felt he might have needed to take to get close enough to the subjects. Appearing too skeptical or even hostile might mean he would have have had little or no access to what actually goes on. Appearing "open minded" lures them into a false sense of security and gives them almost "enough rope" - though he could have been more critical in his final conclusions voiceover.

I do wish the law could be brought to bear on these for exploitation - either they are criminals or mentally ill.
