Trump's Second Term

I think they are a lot like the crowds you see whooping it up at professional wrestling events. I'm pretty sure most of those people are well aware that these are not "real" sporting events- the matches don't "make sense" in that connection; but they are, for these people, very entertaining (doesn't do anything for me, but to each their own). Same thing here, I suspect- Trump's crowds aren't there to be informed of policy or, really, even to hear about political distinctions. They are there purely for the entertainment value. And Trump knows this- when he says "is there anything like a Trump rally?" it's his tacit admission that he doesn't care any more than they do about such mundane things as policy, he's only there to give them a reason to whoop it up for the political equivalent of Hulk Hogan (or whoever). I don't think it's an accident that there is so much overlap between the professional wrestling and the Trump political worlds- they both strive only for fans, and don't require any more substance than that.
I couldn't agree with you more. He appeals to the same mentality as the Wrestlemania and Monster Truck crowds.

Or just putty.

The drip protection is still in place. I spend all day documenting the work of construction contractors working on state government projects, ensuring they follow the plans and state specifications and work safely, and measuring quantities so that they get properly paid for the work they've done.
Contractors are as likely to perform work like that without spilling or smearing a single speck anywhere as Trump is to run up a flight of stairs.
