Beckton Dickenson (BD), one of the largest Medical Device Manufacturers, has agreed to an Investment of 3 BILLION DOLLARS to Onshore Manufacturing of Essential Medical Products (syringes, needles, lab kits, and more) that American Patients and Hospitals depend on.
The biggest expansion will be in NEBRASKA (I am heading there today!) where BD will Invest over 1 BILLION DOLLARS to ramp up production of numerous products, including needles made with American Steel.
No one likes needles — But, if you need one, it should be made of American Steel in the U.S.A.

The reason for BD’s announcement is my strong Medical Device TARIFFS, which will be in place by the end of the year.

Of course the smart thing to do would be to temporarily exempt regular diesel from the taxes imposed on it, which red diesel hasn't paid. Then when the fuel emergency Trump's war has caused is finally over, they can just go back to business as usual. The downside of Trump's solution is that every truck is now going to have its fuel system lawfully stained with red dye, so there will be no easy way to detect and prosecute tax dodgers who continued to use red diesel on the highway.

I presume the reason to do it this way is Trump can only remove the federal tax and can't order states to remove their own portion of the fuel tax, but he could urge them to do so and surely the red states would comply rather than defying him, and blue states would get to look like meanies if they didn't cut the tax too.

The other thing I expect is Trump will go from having "no damned idea" what red diesel even is, to being the world's most eminent expert on the topic in a heartbeat.
