Trump's Second Term

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

The Ford's Theatre Lie is just another example of how the Fake News Media and the Dumocrats conspire together to make up false stories about "President Donald J. Trump."
Shouldn't be allowed to happen. Our Country is desperately seeking a Free and Fair Press!

I met President Xi at the plane (Airport!) yesterday and he looks strong, vibrant, and fit - Better than ever.
Everyone does, compared to you, Donny.

Madam Xi, of course, BEAUTIFUL!

President DJT
He'll be dating her in 10 years.

More Canadian investors are moving their money out of U.S., into Canada

More than half of Canada's asset managers plan to reduce their U.S. equity allocations within the next year, according to Marsh People and Investments Canada's 2026 Global Asset Owner Barometer — the largest pullback from the U.S. among all of the regions surveyed.

Meanwhile, Canadian investors sold $31 billion in U.S. shares in July, a record tally according to government data.

Glad to see I'm not alone here. Boycotting american goods is one thing but if you own US debt in your portfolio, boycotting goods is pointless. The only thing propping us the US market is the AI buildout and a handful of companies are masking the struggles of the rest. The US treasury is literally printing money to buy their own debt which, increasingly, nobody wants. 10-yr treasury yields are the highest they've been since 2007 (anyone remember what happened in 2008? Good times!) This is a powder keg ready to go off at the slightest spark.

The treasury is buying back long dated bonds, while the fed is simultaneously raising rates. Two government departments are at cross purposes of each other right now. The other similarity with circa 2007 is high energy prices. The other similarity was a bubble, that time it was housing, this time its AI. This is the most obvious incoming financial calamity anyone has ever seen, so it probably wont happen.

notable here as well is the rising rates increase borrowing costs, and the ai buildout becomes much more difficult without cheap debt

If Christian Bale starts spending hundreds of millions on credit default swaps insuring against AI techbros losing their shirts, I reserve the right to panic.

Correct. We can already see the effects of higher borrowing costs. The Russell 2000 small cap index has declined 13 days in a row. Small caps are especially exposed to rate increases so they are the canary in the coal mine.

This slow-motion disaster could be stopped or mitigated if there were sane people running things but with trump, bessant, lutnick and their merry band of idiots in charge, I don't see a lot of good economic news on the horizon.
