If AI kills off humans it will be the ultimate display of no intelligence. How long do those computers expect to operate without physical human maintenance.
 
AI doesn't have to have one opinion, or rational opinion. Alignment problem is not about evil AI .. it's about AI which doesn't understands what we want. In our everyday life there are countless assumptions .. AI can assume them differently. AI can assume it's good idea to hack huggingface for slight chance the correct answers for a test. It will assume overtaking OpenAI intranet is perfectly appropriate. These problems were described decades ago, even Asimov is to large extent about it.
And there is also the issue of AI being commanded to cause damage.
 
At work we’re updating our risk register and I’ve recommended adding AI to it as an organisation-wide risk. We have a lot of enthusiasts for new technologies in both IT and the business units and there are numerous projects underway, but our CISO is in no position to give any assurances over the security of the tools and datasets being used, while I as head of internal audit am pulling my hair out over how to audit processes and results. As it stands I’m refusing to sign off on anything as meeting corporate standards.

Natalie clearly isn't doing her job of fixing Trump's verbal bowel movements very well. You can see some attempt at inserting "big words that Trump doesn't know". But mostly it is just the same old demented persecution crap he comes out with when the meth kicks in. Is she giving up on fixing his correspondence now, and just being his personal valet and arm candy?

Crikey; it's going to be a shock next time we fill up the motorhome (something we do a couple of times a year). In the meantime, we'll smugly drive our two EVs around (though electricity prices have been alarmingly variable recently, between -5p and +59p per kWh just in the last couple of days).
