Trump's Second Term

In a 5-4 decision SCOTUS allows the ballroom to go forward, but it could come up again. Color me unsurprised.

The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 on Monday that construction of the White House ballroom can continue, lifting a block on above-ground work as President Trump asserts the project is necessary for national security.

It halts a lower court ruling that would’ve restricted construction until Congress provided additional approvals.

Honestly? It's a reasonable complaint, in and of itself. With that said... it feels like most of those who I've seen complain about that seem to be Republicans and such seems to be in response to having to actually face some of the horrible consequences of their party's actions and likely their own.
It's not anyone's fault that the Apricot Anus makes nearly anything about himself.

"This ballroom is a matter of national security!" stands out as a spectacularly stupid notion, even from a man famous for his spectacular stupidity.
The White House already has an underground bunker that will withstand a nuclear bomb, so the argument that it's for his and future presidents' safety doesn't hold any water. Maybe the current one isn't gilded enough.

Liar. According to a NYT report, taxpayers are paying for about half of the cost. I really hope the next Dem administration tears the ◊◊◊◊◊◊ down and restore it as closely as possible to the way it was before.

I am pleased to report that the United States Supreme Court has just ruled in favor of the Ballroom/Military Complex being built without any further contingency, doubt, or threat. We are living in the Golden Age of America, and this Building will be one of the Greatest ever constructed in Washington, D.C. When completed in the Summer of 2028, the magnificent Ballroom and Military Complex will be something that the entire Country is very proud of. The Project, despite the baseless lawsuit brought by the so-called National Trust for Historic Preservation of the United States, which is not in any way affiliated with the United States Government, is under budget and ahead of schedule. The Ballroom is totally funded by Great Patriots and Corporations and, therefore, is a Gift — At no cost to the American Taxpayer. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

It won't be a "gift". Probably the opposite of that. Spelled similarly - just add an "r" after the "g".

I just had a GREAT and very interesting meeting with my Hollywood Ambassador and Movie Legend, Jon Voight! He is a fantastic man who loves our Country, and feels strongly about the Motion Picture and Television Industry. He hates what’s happened to it! It is being dissipated in its entirety. It has moved to Canada, and other Countries, with very little work being done anymore in the United States. Hollywood is a Complete and Total Disaster! Despite the name, it is getting very little work. There is no incentive to be there, and it is hurting California very badly. Jon, and many others in the Industry, are suggesting we do Federal Tax Incentives in order to Make our Movie and Television Production Business GREAT AGAIN, perhaps GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE! The amount of money spent on Tax Incentives will be made up tenfold by the money pouring into the Treasury’s coffers. Meetings are being set up with the Leaders of both Parties in order to get this done. It should be Bipartisan, especially since so much money is being lost in California, and other largely Blue States. I am going to suggest that Republicans and Democrats get together, and immediately craft Legislation to save the Movie, Television, and Entertainment Business in America. Congress should approve, immediately, a Federal Production Incentive to create Entertainment Jobs in America. It can be done quickly, accurately, efficiently and, importantly, will benefit ALL of America. What we watch on the Silver Screen should be made in what was once the Movie and Motion Picture Capital of the World. Let’s get this done! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Unfortunately, as soon as the next Dem president even thinks of bulldozing it, every GOP group across the country will sue. And suddenly this SCROTUS will find that these groups will magically now have standing and can use every legal tactic to stop the demolition and East Wing restoration.

Given that Trump always had a massive turnover rate of people around him ... who will be the replacement, given that his current picks are already the worst of the worst?

Maybe Trump will end up running all the Agencies himself.
He has been looking for deep state all this time. The departments except for War and Treasury will have to be shut down. The only solution.

And the Dems can treat the law and SCOTUS the same way Trump did when it comes to making changes to the White House infrastructure: With complete contempt. They can just go ahead and clean up the mess Trump left, and tell any vocal detractors to kiss their ass. The SCOTUS can try sending round their enforcers...oh wait, they haven't got any.

US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has submitted his resignation after about 18 months in the role.

His departure was confirmed by CBS, the BBC's US media partner, which reported it came after months of conflict between him and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The youngest-ever army secretary has often been referred to as President Donald Trump's "drone guy".

Driscoll, 41, has been "highly effective" in advancing Trump's agenda "to Make America Strong Again" and provided "outstanding leadership" during military operations, the White House said in a statement given to CBS.

The BBC has contacted the White House, Pentagon and Army for comment.

After 9/11, Bush/Cheney decimated the Intelligence Community, forcing out those critical of the WMD lies and merging departments and groups - many of the best and brightest quit for the private sector.

Trump/Hegseth are doing the same to the Military.

It will take a decade of sensible leadership or more to get back what was lost.
