I suspect that if he is being interviewed these days on one of the few remaining talk shows, Trump will automatically say "We will eliminate X" if the friendly MAGA host says X is bad. He will have no idea what X is, no idea what effect eliminating X will have, no memory five seconds later that he said it, and no intention of actually doing anything to eliminate X. These are just the same hollow, meaningless words that dribble out of either end these days.

Trump, after all, has no problem lying about everything, denying anything, and declaring any unwelcome fact false, up to and including recorded statements. And he knows he can get away with just about anything anyway. And in this age of deep fakes, it would not be out of the question for anything outrageous to be questioned. I would have thought he was pretty much immune to blackmail. I sometimes wonder if the pee tape idea is just another way in which even people who know better cannot reconcile how someone could combine wickedness and imbecility so completely under his own power.

I completely agree, but I also think that Biden's decision to rip off the bandaid so that the voters would have forgotten it by the next election compounded the problem, because it was clearly not planned adequately.

i don’t think he had much choice. there was an unfortunate incident where some soldiers had died and some ugly looking footage of the evacuation but otherwise the military did a pretty decent job of retreating. unfortunately conservative media did what they do

reneging on the agreed time and trumps plan would have almost certainly led to more american deaths. biden and the military was sabotaged by the outgoing president

well i think he had a choice, it was just much worse. reneg on the plan and stay longer, but the taliban probably wouldn't have reacted very well to that either.

this whole thing was designed specifically to sabotage biden's presidency, just another example of bald faced self serving, traitorous behavior that conservative media works hard to white wash. if it wasn't for the iran war or ice or his attempt to steal the election, it's one of his most disgusting abuses of the office, but one that rarely gets any attention.

Or his handling of COVID or his handling of human trafficking or what he did to USAID or his repeated sabotage of Ukraine to try to secure political advantages or his government purges or giving Kennedy so much power over Americans' health or... really, there's just too many extremely disgusting things that Trump does. Honestly, I'd rate Afghanistan lower than Trump's betrayal of the Kurds in disgustingness and that gets even less attention.
