Trump's Second Term

Funny story about Scotts Miracle-Grow.
In 2007 I started working for the NY Department of Environmental Conservation, working in pesticide regulation. A couple new Scotts products came across my desk, combination fertilizer/weed killer products, and I had questions about some ambiguous language on the labels. The EPA has a message board where state regulatory people can submit questions about products to the federal people who reviewed and approved them, and everyone can see the questions and answers, in case anyone else has the same issue.
I tried to submit my question, and the site refused to recognize the product registration numbers. Thinking it was a computer glitch, I directly emailed the EPA person who registered the products, and she responded, "I can find no record of those registration numbers. Please double check your information." I then emailed her a scan of the registration letter with those registration numbers and her signature on it. She replied "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll look into it." We figured it was some database issue and moved on.
A few months later, it's in the news that the EPA raided Scotts' offices, taking files and computers. Their registration person had been forging EPA registration paperwork without ever submitting their products to the EPA for review and approval. They ended up paying more than $12 million in fines, plus the cost of recalls and lost sales.
All my fault.

US President Donald Trump is set to visit the Republic of Ireland next month.

Trump will spend two days at his golf course in Doonbeg, County Clare, where he will attend the Irish Open golfing tournament.

He is also expected to visit Dublin to turn the sod on the new US embassy

Where's this "republic of" Ireland situated? Hoperfully far away from the nation of Ireland.

@The Great Zaganza Operation Meitheamh, the Garda operation for the last time he visited at predisent, was a right pain in the scrotum; though I did get a month of Saturday overtime days from the finance side of (that's how long the Garda overtime and travel & sub took to unravel)

PS he won't come near West Britain.

He's disappointed with Ms. Drinkey because she won't prosecute someone who didn't do the thing that didn't even happen.

He's just scummy in every way.
He doesn't want people who will quit just because it's obvious a task he's set them is not merely futile but reputation-harmingly stupid and pointless. He wants obedient robots who will throw themselves under the bus for him, singing his praises as they are crushed.

Setting people stupid challenges like he's still making The Apprentice may be the only thing he can... wait a minute. Does he think he's still making The Apprentice?

Everything he touches....either she's fired or loses her law license. It's her own fault for accepting the job; how could she not have known it would end disastrously.

Furious Trump is considering removing Pirro over Reflecting Pool filing, sources say

The president is “furious” with Pirro, one of the sources said, telling CNN that he fumed about her all weekend. They added that based on his criticisms of her, they find it “highly likely she’s removed from her job.”

The Historical figure who Trump really reminds me of is Henry the Eight in his last years of his reign...and that is one of worst things I could acccus a politician of being. Henry the Eight became a Monster, frankly. The Term "England's Caligula" is very fitting.

Trump says he is giving Iran a final chance before complet decaptitation.
God, he tried that strategy and it did not work.

I think it is reaching the point where Trump being able to bring oil prices down a little will not matter much in Novemver. I think a great many voters have decided he has gone nuts.

Trump’s military campaign against Iran put the entire business model behind the Gulf AI deals in jeopardy. It’s hard to build and operate cloud infrastructure in a war zone. Foreign workers left, regional ports were disrupted, and insurance costs soared. Iran, looking for economic targets, bombed Amazon’s data centers in the UAE and Bahrain, and threatenedadditional strikes on OpenAI’s Stargate UAE, the centerpiece of the administration’s Gulf ambitions. Months after the outbreak of the fighting, Amazon’s Middle East servers are still offline.

I've been away for a couple of weeks, spotting jaguars and giant anteaters and storks and things in Brazil, and missed many pages, having been purposely out of touch with all politics. As suspected, I think it safe to come back in without bothering to read in the gap. Things look about as expected, mostly the same and a little worse.
