As for me, I feel like taking that as an admission that they know that they're actively sabotaging the US' future. "This is the greatest we'll ever be." is not a phrase that lends itself to any actually positive implications for the country, regardless.
 
Yeah it kind goes in line with his thinking that there's no incentive (monetarily, power, etc) to try to be better.

I got it right from the beginning… they were saying wind was so wonderful, so wonderful, except you couldn't, watch your television, they wanted to watch the debate. Trump on Data Centers: All my life, the biggest building in the whole world was the Pentagon, and you can fit 25 Pentagons into some of these buildings. There's very little disruption. They're just large. They go on for miles. They're incredible to look at

Golden Age? Greatest you'll ever be??

Washington's major building's are half piles of rubble, failed renovations, surrounded by construction fencing and covered by tarps. And your office contains all your collected trash and tat, and is staffed by utter incompetents who are making conditions even worse.

The place more resembles Haiti just after the last earthquake. So this is just another instance of you chucking paper towels into the press gallery. It was stupidly insulting the first time. Now it's just pathetic. ◊◊◊◊ off, you geriatric ◊◊◊◊-stain.
