Trump's Second Term

We may still be looking at the worst of Trump. Our Dunning-Kruger president is too stupid to realize he can't win Iran. So he will order a ground war.
They would need to take at a minimum the islands of Abu Musa, Greater and lesser Tumb, Qeshm and Larak and perhaps Kish too. I've been to one of those islands in 90s and they didn't have a lot of visible defenses, probably changed now. I use to go fishing in the Gulf and we always had to stay 5-6 km away or a Iranian coast guard ship would get mad at us!

There's a photo of him shaking hands with Lionel Messi (5'7") here (scroll about half way down):
I think I've figured out why Trump is so hunched over all the time

Trump Media pitches $100,000 monthly fee for fastest access to Trump’s Truth Social posts

Really short take? Sounds like they're trying to corruptly profit more off of what would effectively be insider trading.

How a notorious billionaire is behind Trump’s Rose Garden statue spree

Look, we were just joking around when we speculated that Trump’s tacky Rose Garden statues of Benjamin Franklin and Alexander Hamilton that appeared in the dead of night were inspired by Justice Thomas’s billionaire benefactor Harlan Crow’s unhinged “Garden of Evil” statue display chock full of dead dictators.

But it turns out that we were hilariously, stupidly, right all along.

More right than we knew, as it turns out that Crow actually owns the Franklin and Hamilton statutes, and loaned them to Trump so they could sit awkwardly atop the paved-over Rose Garden. Crow also loaned Trump something called “Freedom’s Charge,” depicting Revolutionary War soldiers. There’s also a new bronze monstrosity of Thomas Jefferson, but apparently that one isn’t from Crow.

Let’s not even pretend that this is a loan to or for the American people. This is 100% an exclusive Trump joint.

Man, we used to be a proper country. One where the Rose Garden had roses, and was a garden.

Trump caught hiding true carnage of Iran war

The Department of Defense withheld reporting dozens of injuries to military personnel involved in the Iran war, according to The New York Times. The newly revealed deception is part of a pattern of misinformation from President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth connected to the war.

The Times on Monday reported that the Pentagon did not disclose injuries suffered by U.S. service members during an Iranian attack in Jordan. In fact, the attack itself was not revealed to the American public. Instead, the Times said it was made aware of the information via multiple U.S. officials speaking anonymously to the outlet.

Seven Signs the Felon Is Weaker Than Before

Among other things, of some relevance to recent discussions about the FIFA trophy awards is that Spain apparently officially edited out Trump from at least some pictures of the trophy presentation and that FIFA also used those pictures.

People pooh-poohed the idea that MAGA is a death cult.

I rest my case.
Their handling of COVID had already given that away beyond any reasonable doubt, if one needed a case in point.

That's before getting to all the rest that ends up with a difference of hundreds of thousands of deaths per year among American people of working ages when comparing liberal policy versus conservative policy. Every age group shows notable mortality gaps when comparing policy, of course, though. Death cult applies all too well pretty from every angle - with the note that MAGA includes some of the most fanatical of the cult, but not even close to the whole of it.

Somehow the second commandment has never seemed more prescient: the US Mint is set to produce a one dollar coin with Trump's image on them, in violation of US law.

"
  • Thayer Amendment (1866): This law prohibits the use of any living person's image on U.S. bonds, securities, notes, or postal currency.
  • Presidential $1 Coin Act (2005): This act specifically states that no $1 coin may bear the image of a living former or current President.

Of course, Trump controls the Treasury, so they just do whatever he wants. Hopefully, it goes the way of the $2 bill and the Susan B. Anthony and the Sacagawea dollar coins. No one wants to use them. I know I'll refuse any of Trump's vanity coins.

As a counter, they like to bring up the tu quoque argument that Calvin Coolidge did it once.
