Except you now have a leadership that thinks that's exactly how fighter pilots should be and they are now basically saying such reckless behaviour would not be punished. Neither of these points in addressed by your post, which is yet another example of you resorting to some irrelevant tangent to distract from the behaviour of the Trump regime. You don't think Top GUn if for real do you?
As has often been stated, Maverick would not last long in the real life Navy or Air Force.
A lot of people, frankly, know nothing about ther eal world military except they don't like it. and accept every stereotype that comes their way.
BTW Pacifism is a really stupid idea.

Same leadership that thinks it is on a divine mission and therefore protected from all laws, including the laws of physics.Except you now have a leadership that thinks that's exactly how fighter pilots should be and they are now basically saying such reckless behaviour would not be punished. People have very short memories. You don't think Top GUn if for real do you?

One of the problems is that a rather significant percentage of the U.S. population doesn't understand that Canada is the second largest country in the world, with a boreal forest that covers 5 million square kilometers, much of which is remote wilderness. The Ignoramus in Chief has convinced cultists that the solution is dumb stuff like raking forests, and probably thinks you can nuke a forest fire. The idiot politicians posturing and grandstanding are playing to their idiot constituency; I don't care much for my local air quality right now, but I understand the problem is much more that just "forest management." The same people that claim climate change is a hoax are now having to breathe the reality. Can confirm. The smoke sucks and we are not enjoying the campfire.
I had to laugh at the one politician who tweeted something to the effect of 'put out the fires or we'll come put them out for you Canada!!!" Oh really? You will? Please go right ahead! Its like they're so stuck in this reflexive aggressive posture that the only way they can offer support is to phrase it as a threat.
That being said, there are a number of states and agencies that are sending actual help and there is a good deal of cooperation going on. Its sorely needed and we're thankful for it. I don't want to let these grandstanding buffoons distract from the real work that is going on.
It is inevitable that they're going to ◊◊◊◊ with the mid-terms; how, and how much remains to be seen. Now Trump is threatening election officals with jail.
By the end of November, the USA might be in the worst crisis it has seen since 1860.

Putin
Last night Donald Trump released a declassified document that says his own intelligence community identified Putin as personally running an operation to defeat my father in 2020, built around a fake Burisma corruption scandal centered around me and executed through prominent Americans.
Trump tasked his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, to fly to Kyiv and meet a known Russian agent.
The Americans who ran, laundered, and legitimized the operation:
Donald Trump. Rudy Giuliani. John Solomon. Joe DiGenova. Victoria Toensing. Lev Parnas. Igor Fruman. Chanel Rion. Sean Hannity. Steve Bannon. Miranda Devine. Ken Vogel. Ron Johnson. Chuck Grassley. James Comer. Jim Jordan.
To name a few.
An operation formally sanctioned by Trump's own Treasury Department on September 10, 2020, and expanded to include more named actors on January 11, 2021.
Oh, and don't forget the Russian-linked FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, who later pleaded guilty to making the entire Burisma bribery story up.
The record exists and we have all the receipts, and more.![]()
Apparently, being a great patriot comes with an ablation of all taste, knowledge of and sense of styles and proportion, together with colour blindness …Donald J. Trump

Yeah, I had to re-read that myself and all I got out of it was "where's my cheddar?"I had to reread this because it seems his main complaint is that Canadian fire fighting is government subsidized and cuts into the commercial profits of private fire fighting outfits.
This after a Canadian pilot died fighting wildfires in Colorado not long ago.
Its not about help at all for these people. Its about where the profits are going. Its unreal how some people are willing to debase themselves with public statements like this.
First, the forest-mismanagement explanation is borrowed from the wrong forest. Its a real problem in the frequent-fire dry forests of the western US, but the Canadian boreal is a rare-crown-fire system, mostly unmanaged and unsuppressed, where only about a fifth of the burned area is even on managed land and where the fire scientists themselves say landscape-scale fuel treatments can’t scale or stop the megafires.
Second, the surge in Canadian burning tracks temperature with striking consistency, and hotter, drier fire seasons burn far more forest (+80% per 1C), the biggest fire years are almost universally hotter and drier, over 90% of the record 2023 burn was remote lightning fire, and the attribution studies tie these extremes to a warmer atmosphere without needing to invoke forest management at all.
And third, where management does matter like for the forests ringing communities it’s a genuine and worthy fix. But here it just protects towns; it doesn’t solve the underlying factors driving area burned or wildfire smoke pollution.
So next time someone tells you Canada’s fires can be solved by raking the forests, you can point out that the thing filling their sky with smoke is a lightning-struck, drought-primed boreal forest doing what a warming climate is making it do more and more often.
