I don't know about forcing sanctions or anything, but I can absolutely confirm that the air quality up here sucks. I'm in Grand Forks (~80 miles from the Canada border and sharing a border with Minnesota) and it sucks up here. It almost looks like a dense fog outside but I don't know that Canada is doing it on purpose. I doubt they enjoy having their country on fire and God knows the US starts itself on fire for ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ gender reveal parties so we don't have much room to gripe.

I don't know what these idiots expect Canada to do about fires in remote areas of their vast boreal forests. I imagine they think fire trucks can just pull up and extinguish them.

Given that the people who are there... are there, this checks out.

Here’s what the disclosures reveal:

- Hundreds of millions of American voter files in the hands of foreign govs

After, for example, the security breaches during the first Trump Administration and the ones directly related to hostile foreign powers seeking to support Trump?

- Voting machines & ballot-counting systems exposed to hacking & manipulation

Which Republicans have been actively working to make worse in practice at the same time as they scream about there being a problem?

- China & other adversaries actively trying to meddle in elections

Primarily in Trump's favor. Especially Russia's meddling.

- Evidence of fraud being buried

Pro-Republican Party fraud being covered up by Republicans again?

- Hundreds of thousands of non-citizens & dead people still active on voter rolls

Evidence, please. That's bearing in mind that people who are on the voter rolls, but limited to only being allowed to vote in elections for local positions/school boards are not at all support for the crap that Republicans have been pushing about non-citizens voting in state and federal elections.

- No Voter ID, no Proof of Citizenship required

to be presented over and over and over? The first time is enough in some states, yes. Keeping records to streamline various things is normally considered standard practice for people who want things to run smoothly.

And the main cases of notable mail-in ballot fraud both have had Republican perpetrators and even combined are orders of magnitude smaller than would be necessary to make this line of complaint anything other than ridiculous. As a bit of a side note, I've observed a number of anecdotes about right wing men feeling entitled to decide how their spouse votes, as well as systemic enabling for those same men to get away with deeply problematic and controlling behavior. Mail-in ballots could indeed be vulnerable to shenanigans that result from that, but I don't think I've ever heard a peep of concern from the right-wing about stuff like that.

Enough is enough

Yes, enough is enough when it comes to Republicans working to sabotage the US's elections. Too bad there's no sincerity coming from the White House or MAGA.

What "officials" started the wildfires? According to reports, they started mostly from lightning exacerbated by dry conditions and individuals most likely being irresponsible. Moreno is grandstanding.


We had a lightning and thunderstorm here in OR on Wednesday night that ignited a wildfire. Maybe we should sanction the weatherman?
