July 9: The Environmental Protection Agency has proposed to loosen limits on smog-causing pollution from a variety of heavy-duty vehicles, including tractor-trailers, fire engines and delivery trucks. Breathing in smog can irritate the lungs, exacerbating asthma and other respiratory conditions. Trump administration continues its moves to loosen oversight of the mid-term elections by removing the leadership of Election Assistance Commission. (The commission can probably continue operating without its four commissioners, but I don't know for how long.)
