These are very serious crimes having to do with the destruction of National Monuments. Years in jail!

President Donald Trump on Saturday announced that federal authorities had made “multiple arrests” of people he said were vandalizing the Reflecting Pool as he struggled to explain why the $14-million-plus rehabilitation project he launched for the nation’s 250th anniversary seemingly backfired.

Trump said his predecessors had let the pool turn an algae-stained green and that he’d line it with “American flag blue” so it better reflected the Washington Monument. But after the new pool was unveiled, its blue tinge quickly became a familiar green. Workers treated it with chemicals to kill the algae, but then the painted blue lining on the bottom began to peel.

On Friday night, Trump posted about the pool.

“We’ve had some real problems with Vandalism at the beautiful Reflecting Pool,” he posted on his social media site Friday night. “Just like three days ago, they destroyed the grass outside of the Pool, they’ve also done everything possible to hurt the inside surface that was just installed.”

He offered no details to substantiate his claim.

Here's the "vandalism":

One man arrested was David Hearn, 67, of Bethesda, Maryland, who owned a company that made composite used to build watercraft. He said he stopped by the pool during his 64-mile bike ride Friday to see what was going on.

Hearn, a former Olympic canoe racer, told The Associated Press that he reached into the pool to examine the peeling new coating. He said he briefly touched a chunk that was still attached to the side of the pool, then let go shortly after a park worker told him to.

But, Hearn said, he was then detained by National Guard troops and Park Police for five hours before being released Friday night.

“I’m a curious citizen,” Hearn said in a telephone interview. “I reached down to see what it felt like. It was very rubbery.”

The Arcons are pretty much going with this 'sabotage' idea, eating up just about any account of people claiming to see Antifa Super Soldiers dumping algae into the pool somehow despite the crowds. Some even claim the algae was imported from Georgia. The accounts are pretty pathetic and those making them mighty defensive when called out.

They had first made an agreement with boeing for replacements for Air Force 1 way back in 2018 during Trump's first term. Now, converting a standard 747 into air force 1 probably isn't easy... installing new (secure) communications equipment, electronic countermeasures, verifying there are no security issues, modifying the interior, etc. and the project has been delayed due to technical issues. They aren't expecting the new jets until 2028. Yet they managed to get the Qatari bribe converted so that they will probably start using it less than 2 years after they offered it to trump. So how did they get the new jet converted so quickly?

Did they forego some of the systems (communications, countermeasures) because they recognize Trump is so incompetent they won't need it anyways? Did they just have a more competent company doing the conversion? Or did the Qatari bribe already have a lot of the desired updates so there wasn't as much to do?

They left out all the hard stuff that no one else has anyway. Nuclear hardening, operating room and anti weapons defences. It may be confined to Continental US operations only. Then it will be retired in two years anyway. Total waste of money.

Many additional people have been arrested having to do with the disgraceful Vandalism of our beautiful Reflecting Pool.
It hasn't looked or worked like this since 1922, when it was originally built, but even then, it leaked badly, and didn't work. Ours worked perfectly, including the mirror like finish, perfectly reflecting the two Great Monuments, which it never had before!
What these terrible Vandals have done is a true affront to both Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, and should be dealt with accordingly.
We met with contractors today, will probably be forced to release and drain much of the water in order to do the necessary repairs, but will have them done as quickly as possible.
What they have damaged does not even include the earlier killing of a large amount of grass which was, by far, the least of it. They took some form of knife or blade, and put a 250 foot long gash into the beautiful facade of what took so much work, competence, and money to build and complete. They also poured corrosive and destructive chemicals into the Pool.
The Reflecting Pool was never so beautiful as it was just one week ago, even going back to 1922 when it opened. We are very proud of what we have done with this magnificent structure, and we will get it repaired, quickly, to an equal level of Beauty.

WTF is he wittering about? It was his guys who poured destructive chemicals into the pool. What's the "facade" of a pool? If it's been slashed with a knife he can only be talking about the rubbery liner he had painted on. Which, if anything, reduced the leakage so made the pool water more stagnant than it has ever been in the last century. During which time, we are assured, the famous reflecting pool has never worked.

This whole debacle has been so amateurish. And so publicly badly handled. It's genuinely hilarious how their own ◊◊◊◊-ups have them screaming that they've been sabotaged by imaginary foes, but what a humiliation for America to have these dunderheads in charge.
