Trump's Second Term

Miller wrote it. Posted it on Ike's Truth Social account.
Well, to be fair, a person might be unconquerable in spirit and soul, but, like the real life Lee, conquerable in the real world outside his imagination. A modern Lee, like many we see nowadays, would not be unique for proudly espousing evil by calling it good, much as the original Lee sold out his country and his humanity for a spurious cause rightly lost.

A billion dollars

HASSETT: The president is using his own money and the money of donors to make it so taxpayers don't have to pay for the ballroom

CORDES: Well, taxpayer would have to pay a billion dollars, correct?

HASSETT: No. That's not for the ballroom, that's for securing the entire White House

💯 This.

Even our local parish council election (they look after the local park and a few other things like that) had a 32% turnout, which I thought was pretty high for such a minor post.

Both candidates were independents although the winner does have a history of being a Tory.
"Independents" are usually Tories who aren't prepared to admit it.

TEXAS, REMEMBER! Ken Paxton was a GREAT Attorney General, probably the best in the Country. He was also very loyal to your favorite President, ME, as the Dumocrats played their ultimate game of Weaponization, and failed, BADLY!
I LOVE Texas, and WON it all three times, getting, by far, the highest (A Record!) Vote in the History of that Great & Beautiful State.
Ken's opponent was VERY disloyal to me, as President, and didn't fight hard enough for the desperately needed SAVE AMERICA ACT VOTER I.D., PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP, NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS (with exceptions for Military, Illness, Disability, or Travel!).
What more needs to be said??? Vote for Ken Paxton on Tuesday, HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Jesus. Just glancing at that jumbled mess of grammar makes me tense. Didn't they teach him in Wharton about which words should be capitalized and which not?

Doesn't read like a letter from a sitting US President. Certainly seems too long-winded for Ike...

So, having done a shallow dive on the subject, it appears Ike did have a picture of Lee in his office, along with other "influential" Americans from history. There was a story about Ike in the New York Times in 1957 (not 1961). He said the reason was not for praise but to remind him of how influence works. Ike's view on Lee was that he had backed the wrong cause and made military mistakes worthy of dismissal. He certainly did not endorse the Confederate cause.

That goes back to when he initially got criticised for miscapitalisation at the start of his first term. Obviously he couldn't have made a mistake so we are stuck with random capitalisation.

Meridian Hill. Trump is trying to suggest he has cleaned out all the homeless illegals and Democrats.
Its nice to see it operating again but Trump threw 10's of millions at these projects so they didn't have to budget. If a Democrat had tried this the screaming about the cost for years.

Let us recall that the GOP had utter fits about the cost of small wooden stairs for ducklings set around the reflecting pool. They would have preferred dead ducklings in the pool I guess.
