Assuming it gets to discovery.

Its quite possible that Patel will drop the case before it gets as far as discovery. After all, simply by launching the lawsuit he's got his sound bite for the right wing media/MAGAchud. That's all that is needed.

(And the MAGAchud probably don't care if the lawsuit dies since they aren't smart enough to follow through on this stuff.)

I'd love one journalist to countersue, because being accused of lying is harmful to their professional reputation.

Or for there to be some comeback against such bad faith intentionally intimidating lawsuits.
