Trump's Second Term

Can you create a whole Indycar race be Executive Order?
Don't the race organisers have anything to do with it?

BREAKING: President Trump signs executive order bringing IndyCar race to DC for America250 celebrations.

"This is going to be wild," Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said.

“This is free for the American people to come to your nation’s capital and see a great road race. Freedom, America, speed, and road racing — it doesn’t get more American than that,” he added.

It's a real thing and it's on the INDYCAR schedule:

Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C. Coming in August

INDYCAR To Deliver First Motor Race in History on the National Mall

An executive order signed today by President Donald J. Trump directed the White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday to designate a race route through Washington, D.C. and the National Mall for the purposes of conducting an NTT INDYCAR SERIES race on Aug. 21-23, 2026. The event will recognize the historic milestone of America’s independence in addition to celebrating the unparalleled tradition and legacy of America’s motorsports industry.

The event will be administered by INDYCAR in coordination with the taskforce, U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of the Interior and Washington, D.C.’s Executive Office of the Mayor.

Guys .. you can make the pictures smaller now. Please do.

Btw. Melania has 6% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and 98% from audience, with great selection of "not a cult" comments.

The trailer I saw on YT had pretty much only negative comments, with the occassional trumpkin being roundly ridiculed in the replies.

As for Rotten Tomatoes --yes, these are totally sincere comments left by people sharing their actual experience. #notacult, indeed.

eta: At least they too know how to follow in the footsteps of the greats.

eta II: Riefenstahl was apparently a dude who made propaganda flicks for the Nazis in the 30s.

Half of the country hates the movie. But the other one loves it, no matter what it will be about. IMHO that's sound movie pitch. It might even be among the more successful movies. Having a cult can be profitable.

The old school ones whose ancestors came in the 1960s are pretty much assimilated, except for being right wing Castro haters. E.g. Marco Rubio. They speak English.
Recent immigrants on the other hand...
The likes of Rubio will still be sent to the gas chambers in the end. They're only a bunch of Chaim Rumkowskis.

It depends on what the scene is
He doesn't appear in everything, he's mainly there watching the UK government and politicians and only in certain circumstances.

His main 'story arc' was against Boris

If there are any rules to it apart from that I haven't spotted them.
DC Tosh Lines still always appears with his warrant card when arrests are needed (window)

Correction: Leni Riefenstahl was a woman.

Do ticket sales support this? Hell, they forgot to even ship the movie to a few theaters and it didn't affect sales.

The Boston "we will pay you 50 bucks to watch this" scheme was shut down as illegal campaign financing already.

Facts stand as most will not bother to even see it free, much less pay for the honor.
Most of the administration goons and family didn't go to the free premier showing including Barron.
Her own nephew/son didn't care enough.

Bezos gave 75 million. 35 for marketing and 40 for rights, 28 of which she received directly. Most documentary films struggle to cost 2 million to make and this one had 12 million to use.
And its been labeled a bribe already, I am waiting to see what legal savvy folks say about that.

No, the other half hasn't gone to see it.

It's already a flop, won't make back the rights advance to Melania, never mind other costs.
