It's an IRA for kids. Not really a good deal as far as it goes, but Trump is trying to get the ball rolling by giving $1000 bucks each for children born after 2025. So kinda free money, with a whole lot of catches if you want to do something silly with it, like spending it.

Doesn't feel like it will reassure Ukraine very much, since what he appears to be saying is whatever deal they have in mind can only stand as long as Trump decides he's going to honour it and not change the terms.

Maybe he could call it the I've Got You Over One Big Beautiful Barrel deal.

If it were any other administration making this criticism, it would be worth listening to. But since it is coming from the Trump administration (people who have been overtly friendly to Putin, and who seem intent on maintaining oil dependance with their "drill baby drill" attitude), it is hard to take them seriously.

What is there to say? The Trump Administration is supporting Ukraine so strongly that Ukrainian intelligence supplied to the US just happens to end up in Russian hands over and over. Why would anyone doubt the Trump Administration's sincerity?
